DeShawn is a nice player in limited minutes on a championship caliber team with strong veteran leadership. Basically a Dallas type team. Otherwise you get the idiot play he had in Washington where he was more interested in personal vendettas than team accomplishments.

I really wanted the wolves to sign him in the off-season, he can get hot from three and is a strong one on one defender. Even though he isn't even close to as athletic as he was when he came into the league, hes still a good player.

Ken Berger:
We've been talking about a straight up swap but adding a 1st? Ehh.
The Trail Blazers have been among the most active teams, seeking to move Jamal Crawford and acquire a big man -- either in the same or separate deals. The asking price for Crawford, however, includes a first-round pick in addition to Luke Ridnour (Timberwolves) or Eric Bledsoe (Clippers). Depending on what point guard the Blazers can bring back in a deal, they'd also be in a position to put Raymond Felton out of his misery. Felton's up-tempo style and Nate McMillan's deliberate offense clearly are not fitting together. "They've got to make major changes," one executive said.

What about Goran Dragic? Houston has their PG in Lowry and they're deep on the wings with Martin, Lee, and Budinger. Dragic will never be more than a back-up for them, but he's really too good to spend his career that way.
However, Dragic has been doing so well while Lowry's out that his stock may be rising to a point where he will be too costly in the offseason... I hope this isn't the case. The last 8 games, Dragic has averaged 33 mpg/15.2 ppg/7.5 apg/3.4 rpg/2.0 spg with 50% FG%/38% 3P%/86% FT% ... while the percentages are running a little hot (he's 44/36/71 career)... I think these numbers are indicative of how good this guy is/will be when he gets the time.
While Dragic is playing mostly PG right now for Houston, he's played both PG and SG in the past. (Phoenix used to play Dragic and Nash together sometimes.) I actually like his game the best as SG...
In Adelman's system where the SG should be a good ballhandler and distributor, Dragic would fit very nicely. He's 6'4 and a good defender -- he and Rubio would make up a very strong defensive backcourt.
Dragic has many of the same good qualities as Ridnour, but he's bigger, younger, and better on defense. I think the positives Adelman sees in Ridnour are there in Dragic, but he doesn't weaken us defensively the way Ridnour does, and he has a much higher ceiling.
Would Houston take something like Barea & a lotto-protected first rounder? I think it would be worth it for us if they would.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at James Anderson if the price is reasonable.

I like the idea of getting Dragic via S&T from Houston. Definitely an upgrade over Luke if RA wants to continue with 2 pg backcourt. Courtney Lee is also a good candidate if they chose to go after a more traditional SG. Both guys know Adelman so they maybe interested signing here in the offseason.
