BOJAN BOGDANOVIC

Post#1 » by xam2k7 » Sun Mar 18, 2012 6:36 am

Could he be our savior? The face of the brooklyn franchise? The next great euro NBA player following Petrovic, Sabonis, Divac, Parker, Pau, and Dirk?

here are some highlights... already seems to have an NBA type game and this vid is from a year ago...

If I'm guessing I would say he's on the Hornets, or the Hawks, maybe the Wizards when he puts on his first NBA jersey.

I just figure he'll be a very nice throw in when we make a trade.

I guarantee we make at least one trade before free agency starts.

I dont know about trading him. i dont really think hes seen as a big value or else he woulda been in those original dwight howard deals IMO. I think Billy is pretty high on him tho and is gonna try hard to get this guy in a Nets Uniform next season.

Many international players are said to have an NBA game...until they actually step on an NBA court.

I agree with VC though. I think there's a greater chance that he'll be on a different team if and when he comes rather than being on the Nets.

Well, I would agree, I don't think he's seen as high value either, but I think he certainly has allure as a smaller asset to push a deal through.

There's a good chance some teams out there would value him a lot higher then a late 1st round pick, maybe even mid first round pick.

Bogdanovic is a better player than Marshon Brooks, I know that much. I think he'll get bought out in the summer to join us in Brooklyn. He wasn't getting big minutes pre New Year and was very unsettled and since the turn of the year his minutes have increased and his play has got better and better.

Also his agent is apparently wanting him out of Turkey due to Bogdanovic being messed about quite a bit by the club. So I could see it happening in the summer.

Id trade Brooks before I traded bogdanovic. Also we just cant be sure how he;ll perform in the NBA. Rubio struggled in europe but is a star here, Pekovic dominated in Europe and now people are saying hes a beast when he was 1 of the most dominate bigs in euro history. Bogdanovic is sitting around 20 ppg from the turn of the year when his minutes picked up, I believe he could be very good. I know he plays nothing like him but imagine he was brilliant and had the impact Ginobli had.... hahaha

I get excited about every tiny thing positive because we have f*ck all squared going for us haha

whenever i watch highlights, he looks like a big, slow sharpshooter in the nba game. not a bad piece, but he's not beating anyone off the dribble and it's virtually guaranteed he'll struggle to guard NBA wings.

yea thats my prblem with the guy. he can get passed these guys in his euro highlights but i cant imagine him doing so in the NBA. BUT i think he can be a solid player. shoot 3s, play tough, and once guys start respecting his shot in the NBA then he can get by them cuz he can handle the ball, he has skills. i wish i could watch some of his games in full so i could really get a better feel for his game.

I think he's overrated a bit. There is no other kind of competition, especially Basketball competition, like the NBA. He can do as well as he want over there, but until I see him in the NBA playing, no one can say how good or bad he is.

Well no, we don't know how he'll translate, but the big boy leagues in Europe are no joke.

idk guys @ 2:22 in the video i posted in the original post it shows his crafty-ness getting into the pain... you dont need to be blindingly fast to get to the hole in the NBA if you have the ball handling skills and the vision to get through the defense. (ie Paul Pierce)

Cant believe people are down playing the Euro league so much. Its a good standard, Rubio found it hard to scroe or get assists in the league. It's a lot harder to score in europe than in the NBA in my opinion with different rules like blocks off the back board and pure zone defences so therefore you rarely see anyone with high points per game averages. Now realise that Bogdanovic, since getting starter minutes and playing regularly (since Jan 1st) is averaging 20.2ppg and over 50% from deep, are you kidding me?!?

Europe is all about skill, where as the NBA is about being athletic. Coaches seem to prefer someone who has a high vert because they believe they can teach basketball skills and IQ.

Its just a different style of league but dont hate on someone because they play in Europe. Regardless what you think of Euroleague, Bogdanovic can shoot and will get better again in the NBA.

I believe he could, yes, could be a stud.

Lets compare him to one of the great Euroleague wings, Manu Ginobli. Ginobli averaged 15.2 ppg in 00-01 and 15.9 in 01-02 with Bologna before he moved to the Spurs, he was 22/23.

Im not saying that he is the next Ginobli but he is killing it right now in Europe, so.....

It wasn't like Rubio was a surprise. Everyone knew the kid could pass and had exceptional vision. That's why he was a lotto pick. He had a tremendous skill that's actually valued more in the NBA than it is over there.

Adam Morrison is playing pretty well overseas but no one is calling for him. There are many wing players who put up nice stats overseas but don't play well over here.

Bogs is not playing against NBA defenses so my reservations are still high.

The funny part is some people think college ball is a higher level of competition then the Euro Leagues.

Euro league is childs play. Look how many Oversea's scrubs we've seen in the NBA and on the Nets. Darko will forever be a legend in my eyes :D.
