Do Heat fans have any interest in Fisher?

We bench him, see what happens. I doubt he goes to the bulls but Thunder seems like a good destination as well.

i'd love to staple cole's ass to the bench, especially in the 4th quarter. We do need 3pt shooting from our point guard...

Nah this team is built on speed and defense, which fisher has none of...

Not a good fit IMO, especially with cole developing and charmers somewhat stepping it up lately

Fisher skills are almost completely gone. That is why the Lakers got rid of him, and nearly every NBA analyst was saying that the the Lakers needed an upgrade at PG.

Aside from that, Fisher is an empty shell in terms of personal inegrity. He lies to teams like the Jazz and then squirms his way out of obligations like he did the Rockets. His justification is that he wants to play for a contender, but he ignores the fact that 99% of the rest of the NBA players are out there honoring their contract. Especially someone like Aaron Brooks, who stuck it out in China.

As of late meaning the last past years, Fisher is worthless. I wouldn´t stunt coles growth for this bum. We have one roster spot open, I would rather give the kid Harris a chance here and there and try to sign Turiaf.

Bring him in, he brings leadership, knowledge, and championship experience. Assign Harris to the D-League to keep him occupied.

It doesn't hurt to have a 5time champion veteran on this team. Chalmers could learn a thing or two from Fisher.

He is not a good fit

However, I do want a pg. Nole has been acting like a dumba** since the all star break and it is scaring me. We need Norris insurance.

So you think the Rockets traded for him expecting to get quality minutes? They were happy to get a buy out. This stuff is common for trade deadlines with older players on expiring contracts.

The Jazz thing was odd but that was more than 5 years ago, it was at least partially predicated on a medical condition with his child and being close to his family, and the Jazz agreed to it all.

All that being said, Heat don't sign him because he is pretty damn old and has nothing left in the tank.

Yes. The Rocket's plan was to play Fisher both this year and next.
"After much discussion and expressing their desire to welcome Derek to their team this season as well as the 2012-13 season, the Houston Rockets and Derek have negotiated a buyout," Fisher's publicist Jamie Wior said in a statement.

The Jazz's official position is "We took Derek at his word and granted his request to be released from his contract." The problems were:

1) His daughters treatments had already been completed at the time that he made his request.
2) He told the Jazz that he was going to the Knicks.

I am warning you. You don't want this guy on your team! He is a weasel and a compulsive liar.

If it was up to me i would rather have Carter only cause of his D, but would take Fisher on the condition that he is ok with sitting on the bench & not playing unless injuries occur, or foul trouble forces our hands.

B4 the deadline is in(ha!), I have done a little research and have decided that my vote for fisher is now, NO - he had his opportunity to join us, he passed so we should pass.

i'd welcome him with open arms and give him all of cole's minutes (which, at this point, is about 12 a game). he is strong enough to defend 2s so you can play bron or wade on the point guard, and he would only be facing 2nd string point guards anyways. norris cole has been a net negative for 2 months now, i have no desire to see him play in the playoffs. he has to sit and watch and hopefully learn.
