What will be their stats..

Post#1 » by turkishstar » Mon Mar 19, 2012 8:04 pm

What will be their stats if Favors & Kanter was starting bigs of Utah and playing 35 min per game?

Can they both make double-double stats? If they can use shots as much as Al and Paul?

They both played impressive game against Gasol & Bynum..

What do you think?

Well, we don't know.
They are sophomore and rookie so, they play big one few games, then they play poorly a few more.
I think Kanter and Favors would be double double, but they would be in the low 10 in points, at least in the first part of the season.

A minimum 10 and 10 seems easily possible.

Favors averages a little over 15 points, 10 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per 36 minutes, but, given his propensity for getting in foul trouble, he probably wouldn't be able to play 36 minutes regularly at this point. Assuming he could keep his fouls down enough to play 35+ minutes a night, though, I don't think there's any question he could put up something around 15/10/1.5. Based on the way he's played in some of the games where he's started in Al's place, I think there's a chance he could even do a little more than that, which is scary considering how raw he is and how much room he has to improve.

I feel like Kanter's numbers are a bit harder to project. He doesn't play much, his offense is really erratic and his conditioning doesn't seem to be at a level where he could play 35 minutes a night. If he could play 35 minutes a night, I think he'd probably put up around 12 and 12 with around a block a night. I think his offense is going to improve quite a bit in the next couple years, though.

if they played 35 min per game Kanter would steal alot of Favors rebounds:

Favors 17 pts 9 rebounds
Kanter 13 Pts 11 rebounds
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

I think people are a little overly optimistic. I could easily see Kanter pulling down 10 rebounds, but points? I don't know.

Kanter: 7p 10r
Favors: 14p 9r

That seems about right this year if both were starting. In two years? That could change a lot, heck, it could change a lot in one.
