JJ Hickson Waived By Kings

Post#1 » by jleckie602 » Mon Mar 19, 2012 10:10 pm

Word in says JJ Hickson was just waived. I say the suns should sign him and bring more depth to our roster and hopefully compete in the 8th Seed. What do you guys think?

A big man who is shooting 37%?

Uh...I think I'd rather just keep playing Morris, even though he's not that great right now.

The guy has no hands whatsoever, and in a pick and roll offense, you need to be able to catch the ball. I don't think he'd do well here.

Then again, he is young, so what the hay.

He's a live body with athleticism...I'd take him.

That being said, the Suns don't look like they plan on improving the roster this season.

I think they should add him, I think he will be a solid player to rebuild with. He may be shooting 37%, but with Steve Nash you might as well flip them numbers around.

Lol our team is hanging by a tiny string, and that tiny string is STEVE NASH lol. We need good pieces for our future. Past Nash IDK what direction we are heading lol.

And JJ Hickson would qualify as a good piece for our future? I don't see it.

There is a reason why players get waived on teams and yet Suns fans want to get each one of them. It happened with Boris Diaw too. If you get waived means the team is unhappy with you and you can't play bball otherwise you wouldn't get waived. We have amazing chemistry going on right now and yet people want to play around with it. If there was a chance to get a good player that can help us if we make playoffs then im all for it but guys like Hickson and Diaw aren't those guys. Sorry but no!!!!

Meh, I'd take him but only if he was behind Morris in the rotation.

The Suns are playing well now, yes. I do get the feeling we're in for a much tougher stretch though. Spurs x3, Clippers, Lakers, Magic, Heat, Denver... Having an extra guy is nothing to sneeze at.

How can you have a guy that plays around the rim only shooting 37%? He's not the answer we'll struggle with him. Please Phoenix don't take him will be a huge mistake.

If that was the reason, why did Fisher just get waived? Wow Fisher sucks I guess. Nocioni, and Kapono must suck to, that means JJ Hickson Sucks? Nah man, Id put money down on hickson being a solid role player with potential to become a starter. Dont you remember we almost dealt amare for him? Its the systems they play in and the other players they are competing against for a roster spot and also the salary has a factor in it. Just saying.

Fisher got traded then waived because I'm sure he requested it since he would rather play for a contender then the Rockets. Get your facts straight please.

Of course, this two teams are front-runners because nobody else wants him. No team will show interest in Hickson until he shoots better then 40% and fixes his broken shot.

Yes Back to what you were saying he didnt want to be there? Maybe the Cause for Hickson, look at his numbers when he actually got some playing time. not bad huh? Id gamble on taking him is what Im saying. Hes getting little to no minutes playing no wonder his shooting percentage is down.

Okay, I get you man. Maybe with more minutes he'll shoot better percentage. I guess it wound't hurt to get him here and see what he's capable of.

Meh...we could always use another body. Who knows, maybe he turns his career around here.

Wouldn't hurt to have someone Morris can compete with for minutes. If Morris outplays him, Morris keeps his backup spot. If Hickson impresses, then he earns the backup PF job.

Ya I agree, get some Fire back in to Morris. I have always looked a Morris as a non aggressive player, and thats something he needs to get into his game, also his Ball handling is pretty bad. But ya totally agree, have them competing it would be interesting, we can also run small when Gortat goes out and play morris and Hickson as our bigs. THAT would be fun to watch.

The other thing to look at is we need big man insurance. Our playoff hopes and season unraveled when Frye got injured towards the end of last year. If something like that happens again(knock on wood), this means we could still have two rotation players to plug in at the 4 spot, + Warrick in short bursts.
