JJ Hickson?

Post#1 » by Oosh » Mon Mar 19, 2012 10:10 pm

I don't know a lot about his game but isnt he a decent big?

Why the hell did the Kings waive him?

Is he on our radar?

Just wondering why aren't these topics just getting merged into the official buy out thread? Come on mods.

Anyway, he should be on our radar, decent big who can rebound, has offense but is wild and inconsistent. He played his best ball with Lebron, and with Wade and Lebron here, he could dominate. I'd love to see a 3 man fast break with them ending with Hickson as well, wow he can dunk.

Also HEAT can teach him things, he's still young. So even if he wasn't the center we were after, he's could be the replacement for Haslem. He's young and a RFA at the end of the season, I say go for him.

He would never see the floor for the Heat because he has no idea what the meaning is of the word "defense."

He's friends with LeBron. Who knows.

He can rebound decently for his minutes, I'd take him.

But yeah our Heat culture... defense first. Or be old as hell because of "experience".

edit : nvm he signed with GSW.

Hickson plays very very well with Lebron. He can be a high energy scrapper. His problem is that after LBJ left he got a big head in Cleveland and a huge attitude problem. SAC had a huge minutes problem and already dealing with a complaining from evans, cousins, fredette, greene, thompson, and garcia for minutes. SAC has taken a hard nosed approach to complaining and they dont deal well with sour faces. Strange they could not get more for Hickson. Hickson would be a good add but would not fit in with HEAT culture. however Heat culture needs to change. more on that later.

he hasn't signed with anyone yet, he has to clear waivers first and GSW is said to be the frontrunners. Things could change between now and the time he can sign somewhere.

Still, I don't think Miami would show much interest.

The Kings are keeping Cousins. That gives you an idea of what they are willing to tolerate. And they are waiving Hickson.

I'd give him a shot over Gladness even though Hickson has been horrible this year.

He can rebound like Haslem and he might be able to do something in our offense.

Please get Hickson!!!!!. Our defense is predicated from our athleticism. Hickson is a great athlete. Listen good if Cavs don't make Jamieson trade and allow Hickson to continue to start and gain confidence Cavs would have beat boston and won championship. Hickson plays above the rim and that would slow down some of this rebounding. When we go small he could cut to basket off double teams. 15-20 minutes high energy and more rest for Joel. win win!!!

scoop him up if you have the chance. hell add good depth. maybe spo can turn him into a defender. anyone with the right mindset, coaching and attitude can learn defense. lebron wasnt a great defender his first couple of seasons but he became committed to it and now look at em.

He'd be a good pickup, but it would be dumb for him to sign with us. He is young and good enough that he needs to find a team that he can start at. He would be our 3rd string PF, and backup C which isn't enough minutes to earn a big contract, which at this stage of his career is what he'll want.

If we can get him though, great.

Return to Miami Heat
