I think his injuries have affected him a fair bit, so I don't know if what we're seeing now is what he's really like. After all, he was playing pretty damn well at the start of the season

Everything´s been already said.
Uncontroled instant energy from the bench. Undersized SG. Very fast. If the rival defense is not intense enough, he gets what they give him. Sneaky defender. Gets a lot of charges. Complains a lot to the referees. Selfish at times. Usefull in any team but a bit of a nightmare if you have to rely on him every day. Nate Robinson v2?

Pretty much this, although I still haven't given up on him. Nor do I hate him. He wants to be the leader of the pack trying very hard to make it to the playoffs. I can't blame this kind of attitude. His approach to be a leader is wrong, though. Adelman needs to have a word with him.

His shooting has been horrible, but his overall stats are good for the minutes he averages.
As much as it looks like he doesnt pass, he averages 3.8 assists per game, which is #47 among all NBA guards. Aditionally, he averages 9 assists per 48 minutes, which is #29 among all NBA guards (meaning theres a team with a worse starting point guard out there).
And looking at the overall guard stats, this team might have the 3rd best guard combination after Utah and Denver.
Anyway, like I said, if Barea wasnt shooting the % he's having right now, a thread wouldnt have been made. Hopefully all of this is an indication of how much he sucks when he's injured, and he will give us the games he had in the preaseason, plus the OKC game he had to start the season.
Also, he still gives this team, something Rubio (who anyway is a rookie), and Luke have lacked: experience and swagger.
Him coming to the aid of Rubio when Pryzbilla put his nutsack on him, had the ref give a technical to Pryz, where otherwise it might not have been called. His push off Hayward was great also, his constant complaining to the refs always helps (as long as he doesnt get a technical called against him lol) and hopefully, the fight he had against Love means a win streak coming up.
Last year he fought with Terry after Terry was playing bad, and the Mavs lost three straight games. Mavericks then went on a 4 game win streak to end the season and had the playoffs they had en route to a Championship title.
Pretty good first post I think.

A- (I had to deduct a few points for a couple minor spelling and punctuation errors)
His swagger, like you mentioned, is what makes his game so polarizing. He's the prince of Puerto Rico and married to some high class tail and sits on his villa overlooking the country side drinking shiraz. He's got the confidence to get in people's faces, take big shots, and drive into the trees in the paint. When times are good and his shots are falling, he's fine as a young veteran leader on the team. When times are bad, he's a brickchucker with bad shot selection and the audacity to try and tell other people how to play basketball.

I like him, the dude is fierce. When his shot isn't falling he's annoying, much like Luke. He can be far more irritating to the other team than us, especially when his game is on. He's a good backup point guard, he's not supposed to be more than that,.and he's paid like one.
I wish half of our team had his fire, Wes, Beas, Darko, and AR in particular.

Thats funny considering that apparently he was a fan favorite there.

Barrera had a love hate relationship in Dallas. There was definitely a large portion of the fan base that was happy to see him leave.

JJ tweeted that he was defending the bench players:

Re: Barea: What's your opinion on him?
Why did the bench players need defending?
That's stupid.
If the bench comes in and gives up a lead or is playing like crap, then Love has every right to call them out (within the huddle/locker room). That's what being a leader is. KG did it in Boston and made Big Baby cry. I seriously doubt Love was nearly as harsh as KG ever was.

I don't think it matters too much, our issues are on the wing, not at PG.
