J.J. Hickson anybody?

Kings had tried to no avail to trade the big man who is on an expiring deal. Injured Hickson missed 9 of last 10 games. Yahoo reported first

Weren't we linked to him in trade rumors either last year or sometime in the past?

He's expiring, so I don't really see why not. Or why, really. It's kinda moot.

I remember many people on this board foaming over their desire to get Hickson. Not sure how he would provide us anything at this point. Again, MJ is not about to add any salary (translated: COST) to his bottom line this season. That means whomever has to be paid gets paid while we develop the young ones for the future.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Well he is better than Terrance Williams but both need Europe time and would be of no use to us. Hickson is worse than White, Tyrus, Biyombo, Mullens, and Diaw, so whats the point?

I agree. I can only see Kings sending him "for" Bobcats' TPE on draft day and throw in something (or do some draft related move like last year). His qualifying offer is 3.4M, not worth it in my opinion.

EDIT: Nevermind, I hadn't read that wiretap.

The only reason I'd sign JJ Hickson would be to play him at point guard and elevate the absurdity to another level.

I'm biased because I'm a State fan but he's got to be better than DJ White, right?

OTOH, he's flamed out at a couple of different teams and can't hold down his minutes, got to be a reason. : (

Was it ever confirmed that Cleveland refused to trade him for Amare? If so, makes you wonder how different things would be now if LeBron had Amare in Cleveland

I'd rather have Hickson than Diaw or Higgins.

Can we just release Diaw and Higgins and just sign Hickson and T-Will for the rest of the season?

I like what Hickson could potentially add us in terms of post scoring but it depends if he really is the team cancer he's made out to be.

Aside from the cost factor I'd say it was worth a shot.

It's definitely worth it if we're just signing him for the remainder of the season. If it turns out he's a cancer, then we just don't sign him next year.

No. He has awful TS% and eFG% to begin with. And he has regressed last two seasons. I don't even know about him being a cancer, I would say no purely based on his production. We have quite a bunch of power forwards already and there seems to be swarms of them in next drafts. Let's wait till offseason to sign one if needed.

He's really good in NBA 2K12 - I'll give him that.

Why exactly would we sign another mediocre four when that is our deepest position.

Forget JJ Hickson, Cavs just waived Ryan Hollins. That's who we need.

*I also think Cavs will claim Hickson.

I have feeling he doesn't play well for bad teams for whatever reason. I think that's why he went pro early, to get away from Sydney Lowe and his mismanaged mess of a team. He was looking like a solid starter type player with LeBron's Cavs but ever since he's just became a chucking knucklehead I guess. If he plays like a complete tard for bad teams then we definitely don't need him, we have enough PF's to do that already. Tis a shame though, guy had a lot of potential.
