Why Snider should get his 600 at bats this year

Post#1 » by Kapono » Tue Mar 20, 2012 6:29 pm

I believe Thames' value is at an all time high and that Snider's value is at an all time low. Sell high on Thames. Snider has way more potential and is already a better fielder than Thames will ever be. GIve Snider his 600 at bats in LF. If he busts this year, Gose will be ready for 2013 shortly followed by Jake Marsinick.

This riveting piece of info doesn't belong in the Thames/Snider thread how?

I agree and hope it plays out this way. Failing that, maybe Rasmus moves to left for one of them
No good can really come of either spending time in AAA anyways

I'm not sure either player is really a long-term solution in LF, particularly because of guys like Gose and Marisnik. However, at least one of those guys will make or break his Blue Jays career this season...

I also agree with your sell high mentality...though I don't think either player has a whole lot of value at the moment.

Thames value is at a alltime high?
He has had 365 AB's in his rookie season.
He is 25 years old and by all accounts a insanely hard worker.

I dont understand why some fans feel like Thames is some scrub and has peaked. Thames value is not at all all time high as that would assume that his value will never be higher. All he has to do is put up a solid full season of .780 - .800 + OPS and his value would be much higher league wide. I know lots want Snider to be the LF'er but you dont have to rip down Thames in the process. Guy looks like a very intriging hitter going forward.

all-time high, indicates to date, not in the future...
