GSW trying to get their pick back?!
Some reports that GSW believes yet can get their pick back from Utah. Does anything but Curry (not Jennings) get that done?

are you referring to brandon jennings, starting point guard for the milwaukee bucks? the jazz wouldn't do that trade because teams can't trade players from other teams.

Maybe you meant Curry? But there is no way GS does that. Not sure what they may be offering for the lottery pick back though.

^haha.
I highly doubt that they would give up Curry or Bogut for that pick assuming it is in the 8-10 range. Their fans would really light up the owner if they did trade either of them.

What do they have besides Curry and Klay Thompson that the Jazz would have interest in giving back the 1st??

I wouldnt be surpised to see the Jazz give up the rights to the GSW pick plus any rights to their own pick to GSW for Curry right before the lottery or draft would occur. Bogut for Jefferson and the rights to the GSW pick right before the draft would be a possbility as well, especially if the Jazz miss the playoffs and get to keep their own pick as the jazz may not want two more rookies on their already young roster
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Re: GSW trying to get their pick back?!
LMAO on the wiretaps it says that they could use a combination of their first round pick from SA (currently like the 27th pick) and two 2nd round picks. So far the Warriors look to sure a fire 8-10 pick. NO WAY we trade that pick for anything outside of Curry. I don't want to touch Bogut either. Curry is basically the only guy I would trade that pick for. Klay Thompson doesn't look better than Burks to me. He's pretty inefficient shooting thus far in his starting role. Anyways what a joke. Now a multiplayer trade could work. Maybe if we could get them Al Jefferson to get Curry, but that would make little sense. They already traded the guy who could of played PG for them (Ellis). Plus they have Lee already at PF, and obviously Bogut. Yeah, we would need a three team trade to get this done. I'm sure there could be something favorable out there if we involved more teams.

Re: GSW trying to get their pick back?!
The best part of the article is that it assumes that somehow the Jazz would just take San Antonio's pick late in the first, instead and that they wouldn't have to give up any core players. Ridiculous. In my opinion, if the Jazz should happen end up with that pick this year, then it would cost GSW a minimum of two future firsts or Steph Curry. What Else does GSW have that KOC could possibly want? So, either GSW no longer considers Curry a "core player" or Joe Lacomb is just outright stupid.

Who writes thes headlines? All indicators are pointing to them getting their pick back due to their sucktitude. No trade necessary.

While I'm all for losing Al Jefferson in favor of Favors/Kanter getting playing time, I think we could probably get a 1st round pick for Jefferson from a team hunting for centers. I mean how many teams with a serviceable center are looking to trade their center? I can only think of Utah. So I rather keep our GS pick and trade for another first round pick than basically give up 2 first round picks for Bogut. Bogut is damaged goods. Over the last 4 years (including this year) Bogut has missed over 100 games.

GSW trying to get their pick back?!
Not to be Captain Obvious, but the GS Pick is Top 7 Protected this year. Unless the pick is 8th or lower, we are not going to get it. Also, unless the Jazz's pick this year is in the lottery (meaning no playoffs), we are not even going to get our own First Round Pick this year because it was part of the Al Jefferson trade with Minnesota. We shouldn't even be focused on this right now. Our only goal should be to make the playoffs. If we don't, then we can focus on our draft picks.

Re: GSW trying to get their pick back?!
I think their logic is, to postpone giving the pick away not get the pick fully back. To make sure they get the lotto pick this year, in this deep draft. So I think what they are floating to the Jazz is this.
"Deep draft, your odds of getting a player is the same at 10 as it is at 25. You let us have the pick this year, we give you the SA pick this year and next year, instead of the pick being being top 6 protected, what if it was only top 3 protected. Then instead of it being it being 2 second round picks in 2014, it is only top 1 protected. Then it becomes 2 second round picks in 2015."
I think that is what they are floating and the Jazz might be thinking, "Do we need 1 or 2 rookies next year?" We are pretty young, it might be a good idea to push off a year on the pick and KOC also has someone he likes at the end of the first round too. Then it makes sense. But we dont know who the Jazz like in the draft and where they are on boards. I mean if they Jazz only like guys that will go 1-4 and then some guys at 20-30. It is more to their liking. But if the Jazz love a guy that is set to go between 5-10, then you would not want to do that trade.
GS is thinking, with Bogat and a more balanced team, no way we are a lottery team next year. We get our lottery pick this year and then give Utah a 15-20 range pick next year, in a less deep draft. No need to worry about lowering the protection as, we will not be in the lotto.

So they can just tank and keep the pick or do a trade with us right?

Re: GSW trying to get their pick back?!
Trading Curry for the pick back isn't happening, just like Utah trading the 8 pick to us for our other scrubby picks isn't happening. As I said in the other thread, any trade based on our SA 1st is almost certainly around postponing when the pick is due and possibly adjusting the future protections.

The more trades with the warriors the better. They seem to lose out on everyone of them.

Disagree- Our goal should be to play our Rookies, Favors and Gordon.......and if we tank a little that is good.

I don´t think we should tank. We gonna take this pick this year or the next, plus our pick that is gonna be between 15-20 if we make the playoffs
I think we should push to make the playoffs and get some more experience to our young players, and to increase the value of our expirings of next year ( Harris, Al and Sap)

If we make the playoffs Minnesota gets our pick.

Re: GSW trying to get their pick back?!
hmm, but still i wouldnt tank. We have a good team, harris is playng good, and we should keep him, so we just need to trade al jaff and something more and get a nice SG/SF. And next year we make the playoffs for sure
