Is this a coincidence:

I think the Lakers are a possibility.

Unless they deal Mo Williams, I don't see the Clippers really needing another guard who isn't a true SG. Denver might be a possibility. Maybe if looks impressive, Dallas or Boston would be interested.

So, how's this workout going to be staged? Is he going to do 1-armed pushups with Terrell Owens, Clinton Portis, and Mike Tyson? Are they going to leap tall phone books in a single bound? Play HORSE with Antoine Walker? Try to shoot the apple off of Laron Profit's head? Oops - that's gonna leave a mark... or a scab. :eek2:

Maybe he's hacked himself into NBA 2K12 and he'll bust some moves on his Wii and project it onto a jumbotron

Now it looks like Billups has an injured Achilles. Between that and Baron Davis' injury issues, there may be a spot on a decent team for Arenas.

Billups injury looked like he torn achilles. Seen it happen to teammates twice on the court, and as soon as I saw Billups go down it looked eerily familiar.

No contact, nobody around, the grasping of the lack, total deja vu.

Despite the defensive issues of a Arenas/Paul backcourt, I'd love to see it happen.

I hope Arenas gets to extend his playing career for a bit on a contender, he's one of the all time good guys in the NBA despite how much he's being trashed by fans and the media alike.

Arenas has signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. I think this a good fit for him. I think they could really use a player that is an above average 3 point shooter.

I don't know that Gil has much left, though I guess we'll find out in Memphis. He was pretty terrible last season, shooting under 37% from the field and under 30% on 3-pointers. I don't see what he offers the Wizards, apart from a few good memories for fans who can't let go of the past.

Seems like "the Kobe procedure" worked. The proof of how well will be determined by how much game Arenas has left. I truly hope Gilbert succeeds with the Grizzlies....

I would love to see Gil come back like Grant Hill and Micheal Redd. Actually, I hope he eventually gets back 90-95% of what he was and can do like Bernard King did 25 years ago. He came back to be an all star. (Actually, so did Grant Hill his come back year when he edged out Larry Hughes.) Arenas has been through a lot and I want him to be a better man and once again a great player.

Just hearing Arenas is back on an NBA roster is good news!

I'm rooting for Gil to succeed. I'll be excited to watch this Grizzlies team in the playoffs.

anyone see Gil last night? Best Ive seen him look since he was healthy. He is so good. He's turned into such a great pure PG. He can get any guy an easy shot in the lane all day and his vision is top notch. To me Gil may have been the most talented player in the NBA, atleast Offensivley but he had a low IQ at times and never put it all together at the same time.

He was a great post player but never took advantage of it enough. Even before the injury he had started settling big time for long J's when he was so great at attacking and getting teams in foul trouble. Most of all he would always say that he's not Nash and stuff like that. Meaning he was just a scoring type. Then he got hurt that one time, we won alot of games without him, and he learned the game more.

When he came back his passing & PG skills went up times 10 but by then his athletic ability had left him. I believe he can still be a dominant PG and when I say dominant, I mean the best Offensivley. I think Hollins wont start him because he doesnt want to throw a wrench into things but by time the playoffs get here, he will be playing alot and no one wishes an injury but if Conley went down then no one would be upset.

They got him because there 2 young backup PG's suck and even Mayo has struggled but after last night all the Grizz fans said that Gil found Gasol more times in the paint in 5min than Conley has in 5 years. He was making it look so easy. You cant tell by the stats but he had like 5 other passes that led to guys shooting FT's and Gasol or others missed a couple of easy ones because you could tell they werent use to them. He's going to be good.

Alot of Grizz fans were against the move and even they were shocked by how good he looked and now want him to take all of OJ's minutes and are saying that Conley better step up or else

Last year Arenas made some of the dumbest turnovers i have ever seen, especially for a veteran. When he lost his athleticism his lack of pg skills were exposed.

Those numbers do not tell the story. dlts20 is correct. Arenas should have had 6 or 7 assists in 12 minutes and it could have been more than that. It was clear he was still not sure how/when to pick his spots and he doesn't have his rhythm, but when he gets comfortable he'll be an impact player again. He was carving up Portland's defense.

Just as the PRP therapy has been a fountain of youth for Kobe, Arenas looked more spry than at any point since Gerald Wallace happened. I'm not ready to proclaim anything for sure after 12 minutes, but it appears that the Gilbert Arenas 2.0 era has now started and Arenas will be more of a pure PG. I won't be surprised to see Arenas playing efficient, all-star caliber basketball very soon. He will be a big story come playoff time and will play heavy minutes. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Arenas averaging about 20 pts and 10 assists next year when he's somebody's starting PG.

I have seen enough to know that what happened in Orlando has no bearing on what to expect from Arenas going forward. Everyone who assumed Arenas was finished is going to be proven wrong.

Besides the athleticism being back, that was something that stuck out. He tried one of his signature forced outlet passes that resulted in a turnover but other than that his mental approach was flawless. For a guy who had never practiced with the team, he made the correct PG play every single time and often got very good, open shots for teammates. Oh, the irony with John Wall.

I agree that Arenas looks like he will be a dominant offensive player again. More of a PG this time though.

I only saw him in the 1st half, but he did a good job finding teammates, and played like a pure PG. He's not going to be anywhere close to a "dominant" offensive player though. He still isn't attacking the rim, and while he's lost weight, he's still nowhere near as quick as he was in his prime from what I saw. He'll be a good backup.

nah, that was just a combination of being hurt, being depressed, feeling like he'll never be great again, and being out of shape.

Gil had some of the best handles in the league before he got hurt. After the injuries he had like some of the worst handles in the league for a PG. He would always lose the ball or mishandle things. Last night I saw none of that. He has good PG skills

you had to watch the game. Also, one of those misses shouldve been a foul and those 2 turnovers were the same turnovers he always has. Not real turnovers per say. One was a full court pass again and the other was a charge. Both came towards the end of his 12min when Memphis didnt really have any help on the floor with him. There was no Gasol, Z-Bo, or Gay for that stretch

Wall had more assists as a rookie on a bad team than Arenas has had his whole career. Arenas' assist ratio has always been poor. His best assist ratio was 23.5 as a rookie. That would rank him 43rd in the NBA among pgs today.

He was a scorer. Period
