I think he means, which goalie do you think is better.

I dunno whats going on here but to answer the question, a lot of people want to go with Reimer by default, for one simple fact is that he is younger. The media from what I have heard is that they believe that Jonas is pretty much an end product, he isint going to be any better, so might as well let him walk. They really believe that Reimer has alot more to offer, and may get better because he is younger. It might be baseless faith, maybe even Canadian homerism. Or maybe they are seeing something in Reimer to feel confident in moving forward with him whether its the starting or backup role.

If you were asking me specifically who I would keep out of the two for the future, it would be Reimer.

Gustavvson was given ample opportunity this year to take a hold of the role. In the past, there were reasons with his health that kept him from getting a fair shot. This year he had a shot and didn't take hold of the role.

The losses this season, shouldn't squarely fall on either goalie, but neither goalie, could make that big save when needed.

Reimer though had a great stretch to end the season last year, had a solid start until the concussion, he's bigger and younger and likely cheaper. I'd find a vet to play backup to him.

I'll go with that option too if it's there.

If Burke was really sort, he'd get Schneider, keep the pick and let the younger guys on the Marlies that are close to just come up and play and develop at the NHL level. Can't have him overpay to fill out the roster and make up for previous mistakes contract wise.

Neither look like long term starting NHL goaltenders.

I would have picked up a veteran starter earlier this year, had Reimer back him up, and cut Monster loose.

Still might be the best option available, but I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in a young starter with star potential, like Schneider.

Schneider should probably play the backup role next season. Dislike the idea of throwing him into the fire in his rookie season. I wish we somehow found a way to keep JSG for another year

I kinda feel for Gustavvson. The Leafs turned him into a butterfly style goaltender. That isn't what got him to this level and we sort of see a lot of weak goals up high he lets in because of it

Schneider should play backup? Really? The guys backing up Luongo already and at times this season played better. Unless you meant Reimer. Schneider's definitely ready to start and he should be put to the fire. If we could get him he's the clear cut no. 1.

Neither look like starting calibre goaltenders but I prefer Jonas. At his best, Jonas can be a good goaltender in this league, he has some instincts that Reimer severely lacks, like his glove hand. He only does it in rare spurts and isn't consistent enough however.

Sure, it'd be nice to get Schneider, but I really don't think we have the assets to get him unless we're OK with giving away some picks and some major pieces.

I don't think the Canucks are set on trading him at the moment. They may very well deal Luongo instead.

How much of the goalies kinda sucking can be put on Alaire (spelling?), the goalie coach?

Or even more the players infront? Our team doesn't play a very controlled style of game where the goalies can predict action.

I still think Reimer has it in him, the team at the end of last year with him in net just had a very different feel to it

The problem with both of them this year, is they weren't solid on the average plays, letting in weak goals and when the players in front of them made mistakes, they weren't able to make one or two spectacular saves to make up for it consistently.

All the great goalies have it in them to make up for mistakes of the defense/forwards in front of them. Both have made saves that you thought no way, but they didn't do it enough and let in too many weak goals over the season. The players in front of them lost confidence in the way they were playing and didn't have confidence in their goalies. Recipe for disaster.
