You can't start a guy like Blake as long as he's terrified for taking a shot. Sessions is great of the bench and makes that unit a lot better but I think he would impact the game even more if starting. And he really should play when the game is on the line. He can get to the FT line and will penetrate and get better shots for Kobe.

What's the obsession with Sessions starting? Just sends Blake back to the second unit and makes the bench useless again. As long as Sessions is getting more MINUTES than Blake then who cares whether the starts or not.

Bingo, he's way more important to the 2nd unit

1. The bench is only really bad on the road, they have been respectable all year at home with Blake and Barnes leading them.

2. Sessions isn't more important to the second unit, we need at least 4 offensive threats with the starting unit and MWP is needed to lock down the opposing teams best offensive starter. This isn't even factoring in the defensive upgrade of Sessions over Blake against starting PGs keeping our bigs from having to help.


Any starting PG will make a second unit look "better", but they also make the starters look "better" because they are a much better player!

Blake on the other hand disappears with the starters, yet plays decent enough with the bench. He's spent the entire season(the portion he's been healthy) before the trade coming off the bench and has his own good chemistry with Barnes.

Sessions will still get minutes with the second unit like Bynum does since he is a young player and more skilled than his backup(Blake), but I don't understand the obsession with burrying him in with the bench when we traded Fisher to open up the starting PG position. There isn't many games left in the regular season to build good chemistry with the starters, every game we wait hurts us in the long run.

Exactly, really bad on the road. Where 85% of our losses come from.

Kobe only sits about 10 minutes per game, so Sessions should still be getting at least 22 minutes with him anyway
