Too funny. Yesterday everyone saying my HoopsHype link that Alex Kennedy said HICKSON will sign with Warriors is nothing but bull and that Kennedy is a liar. Now Coro comes out and says the same thing; that Hickson is going to most likely choose Warriors.

LOL. Yes, everything from HoopsHype is a lie.

Suns missed out on another good player.

2) Scroll WAY down to the very bottom.
3) Find "Hickson, J.J."

On a scale from 1 to awesome, he is 1.

You've got to be kidding me with your little link up there..... :naaa: :curse:  :upset:

We all know, based on your little link, that Udoh is better than Bynum and Blake Griffin. Duh! LMAO.

Bonner is also better than the reigning MVP, DWade, Kobe, Paul Pierce, BGriff and Dwight Howard. Stats don't lie.

If he signs with GS it's understandable because we've got a lot of bigs already. Though there's one who's spot he can easily take. It's a shame though because he would've been a nice piece. Averaging 13/9 last year might've been decent going forward into our rebuilding process.

Since it seems like we are looking to add a big to the squad, i bet we end up looking at Ryan Hollins also.

Wow, look who knows so much! I mean, do you know anything about what you're discussing? I felt like some basic understanding of APM/RAPM was starting to enter the general consciousness of regular realgmers. Apparently not.

RAPM is not a pure "ranking" of all players, completely independent of all situational variables. Shocker of shockers: it's not the perfect holy grail of all stats! (In case you were wondering, no one claimed it was.) RAPM measures a player's value to his team IN HIS PARTICULAR ROLE. If he changes roles, he might not be as valuable. Matt Bonner, for example, is a backup PF. He is incredibly successful as a backup PF, but that doesn't necessarily translate to him being successful as a starting PF. (Or as an SF. Or as a C. Or there might be peculiarities about how the Spurs use him that wouldn't translate as well onto other teams.) Amar'e Stoudemire, for example, is much more effective offensively as a 5, and defensively as a 4 (ask if you want me to explain why that is). As for Bonner, the Spurs are pretty much killing teams when he is on the court, and have been for the past 4 seasons. In particular, they're much better on offense when he plays (please note the incredible indirect impact of stretch-bigs...). Other APM/RAPM compilations have divided the league into two groups based on minutes because of people like Bonner. I've looked at variations of this enough that I automatically view it with a lens that filters for that kind of thing. On the one hand, my apologies for not giving more explanation. On the other hand, you obviously are in way over your head, so it's both arrogant and stupid to be so dismissive. Instead, I recommend asking questions!

So what I explained about the minutes takes care of Bonner and Udoh...which is everything y'all brought up. Moving on.

I don't know that a caveat is necessary for J.J. Hickson. The point: His bad team is much worse when he is on the court. That has been true for three years running. It has been true whether he was playing big minutes or small minutes, and it has been true on both offense and defense.

Perhaps there is some situation in this league where he would be significantly more effective. I really doubt it. And I absolutely do not want to see the Suns gamble on a probably failure like that without specific, excellent reasons why we think he would be vastly more effective for us.

You know how Warrick has been absolutely horrendous for us?? RAPM clearly said that before he got here.

In line with my Over the Hill Gang idea, I say we pickup Nocioni.

seriously, a solid player for our run at hte postseason. Remainder of season deal with option (ours)

tough, a defender, intangibles guy, can rebound decently, good 3-pt shooter; a tougher Frye

I'm not kidding.

It doesn't matter, he was set to go to GS, until Portland claimed him off waivers. He could have been a cheaper version of Amare, with similar smarts. Even at his $2.3 million salary, I wouldn't have mind picking him up for the remainder of the season.

I wouldn't mindNoc either, but he has done very little this year, and has been often injured.

I would still like to pick up Sean Williams, as a cheap backup big in case of injuries. Dudley can keep him in line, and it would be nice to be able to put a stronger defender big, when Frye is having troubles, and Morris is in foul trouble.
