Personally, I wanted MarSwag at 19. Kemba scoring without the size issue.

I liked Knight a lot, but obviously he wasn't available. I didn't mind Kemba and I also wouldn't have minded Burks or Klay Thompson. I didn't care for Singleton, Leonard, Vučević, Faried, or the Morris twins. Hindsight though, I'd probably take MarShon Brooks.

I haven't seen much of him, but exactly does Vučević do that separates him from Mullens?

I would probably say Alec Burks and Klay Thompson also. It was pretty obvious that these two can pan out in the NBA. So far Burks is showing glimpses but that's only because he's playing sparingly. The writing was on the wall for MarShon Brooks. Every team knew he was capable of scoring.

So far though, Kemba is playing decent. Considering the fact that he had no summer league, a small training camp and preseason, he's doing the most of what he had to learn. He has no where to go but up since the starting job will eventually be his next season.

I don't really see exactly how Kemba is any less of a "real PG" than DJ. Eyetest-wise I'd argue that Kemba makes better flashy passes than DJ. DJs alleyoops have always left a lot to be desired. I don't think I've noticed DJ doing markedly better in creating good shots for anyone, in fact his lack of breakdown ability as a ballhandler makes it harder for him to do so. I really think for whatever reason the sets just have DJ passing more to the designated shooter in assist situations rather than DJ having better passing ability or vision, which gives me confidence in Kemba's ability to take over next season after a summer league and training camp. If DJ ever had consistent assist numbers I'd think differently but the amount he gets on any given night is a total crapshoot.

I would still take Walker. I was all for Kemba before the draft and nothing that happened has changed my mind. Sure Kemba didn't meet my high expectations for him but he showed enough to justify picking him at 9. Sure he is awful at shooting the ball, but I believe that he can get better and he has shown a lot of improvement during the season how to be more of a PG and facilitating better.

Give season a full offseason of putting up 1000 shots a day along with a summer league and training camp and I honestly believe he is going to blow Augustin away next year.

The other rookies seem to be doing alright despite the lack of training camp. And Kemba wasn't a freshman. He should be better but he isn't. I'm quite disappointed.

EDIT: thoughts?

other rookies arent being pressured into being a #1 option on a team with little talent, quitter teammates, bad coaches that are now rotating nightly (?? lol), probably like 20 different starting lineups so far this season etc. except for like..Kyrie. and he was the #1 pick. Kemba was basically put into number 1 overall pick position, especially when DJ was out, despite being drafted late lottery. give him a break

i dont know what your idea of alright is? it seems to me that all of these rookies have struggled and played poorly.. i mean they all aint shooting 36 percent but thats one of the easiest thing to fix...i am not worried about kemba he is one of the few players on this roster that can create his own shot

He averaged 15.3 PPG and 4.1 APG in 17 starts.

I'll wait....

Back when we were at 9 and 19, I really like Leonard and Brooks at those spots, respectively. I never really had a preference after we moved up to 7...just wanted us to grab Leonard with one of the picks. However when Knight fell to 7 I wanted us to take him, to be honest I hated both our picks at the time. I liked Kemba, but I didn't like the idea of leaving Knight on the board for Biz. At that point I was hoping for Knight and Kawhi.

If they were to redraft, I still want Biz at 7. After that it's kinda a crapshoot...a few weeks ago I would've said Brooks but he's fallen off a bit. I think right now it'd be Kawhi. Really like what I've seen from Kemba though. Bit of a chucker (understatement, I know), but he definitely has some great PG qualities and I'm interested to see how he develops.

Give me a break. Still take Kemba all day everyday at 9. He'll come around, his playmaking ability is improving. His offense? Well who the **** knows what our offense is under Silas this season, like others have said give him a full TC with Summer League and offseason and we'll have a much improved Kemba next season.

And what the **** can Burks do that Kemba can't? Shoot less....

I don't know, if I could redo the draft, I'd take Kenneth Faried, Marshon Brooks, or Kawhi Leonard over Kemba. A Biyombo/Faried frontcourt would be so much fun to watch, although undersized. Brooks will be a 20ppg scorer in this league someday, and Leonard reminds me A LOT of Gerald Wallace. At the time I was actually surprised Kemba dropped to us, because I thought he'd be an immediate impact player, and I didn't expect such horrible shooting numbers either. That is something that has to be worked on this summer.

I don't like players who get more excuses than made baskets per game.

maybe you shouldnt have got your expectations for a late lottery pick so overinflated and you wouldnt be so butthurt that he's not a superstar in his rookie season. smh

Agreed with everything except Brooks. Not sure if he will average 20 a game. 16-18 Im sure.

Im a huge Faried fan. Him and Biyombo teamed together in the front court would have been a very nice duo. Leonard would have been a phenomenal fit at SF for us as well.

That being said I still have faith in Walkers work ethic and ability to improve. He should be much improved next year.

I still like Kemba. The Rising Stars game was very assuring that Kemba is a good player on a bad team. Surrounded by quality players, Kemba looked like the best passing PG in that draft with the exception of maybe Rubio. (Irving just launched 3's like he was Petrovic all game). Surrounded by the 2nd unit of the Bobcats, Kemba doesn't look nearly as good and that's not surprising. Let's put some guys around Kemba that can catch passes and shoot before we give up on him.

And what happens when we give those guys who are currently playing better than him a full TC with Summer League and offseason?

First you guys might want to try keeping it real. Kemba has been shooting poorly not playing poorly. While he has been disappointing a lot of that has to be attributed to his lack of quality team mates. After all does anyone think Kemba would look half as bad as he does if he were passing to Lebron and DWade ? Of course not he would be taking so few shots that he would have to shoot a better percentage.
