Will Metta be back?

Post#1 » by Johnny Kilroy » Thu Mar 22, 2012 9:51 pm

i don't think he has any trade value at this point, his game sucks, his contract is awful, his comments/behavior are destructive, etc. are they going to amnesty him? if they don't then you seriously have to wonder whether buss is saving it for kobe down the line. what other reason would the lakers have to save their amnesty? your thoughts on if metta will even be in the nba next year?

They should convince him to take the player option to become a FA, pay him under the table (shhh) and amnesty Blake.

I'm a genius, as long as Stern doesn't find out about this

I pity the fools that don't see the value that MWP brings to crucial games against our biggest obstacles.

I don't think his comments/behavior are destructive at all actually, more like hilarious hijinks.

Yes it is true that Artest has mad big plays in many big games for the Lakers especially recently but with a more punitive luxury tax a guy that has his numbers cant make 6 million a year. He will be amnestied its just how its going to be.

Yeah..... what Mr.T said !

Also can we just get to the end of the season and playoffs first before asking this ? It's kinda moot at this point.

I think the harsher tax starts in the summer of 2013.

i really like what metta brings at the defensive end especially against elite teams like snaq pointed out. really fun to watch when hes on it too but hes really inconsistent at the offensive end. he really is a bad contract though.

World Peace is here to stay.

The Lakers see the amnesty as a waste of money and they are not into wasting money.

There rationale is that it is asinine to pay a player to not play for their team ... especially when that player is a contributing rotation player (and your fooling yourself if you think that W.Peace is not a contributing rotation player).

The only way they'd amnesty him is if he was physically unable to play anymore (like Brian Grant) or they had two really good, cheap guys in which to replace him (better than Barnes and Ebanks).

Here here.

I've said it since the beginning of the year. Our problem isn't SF based, it's that we had a PG and SF that were black holes on offense with only one of them making up for it on the defensive end.

Metta is a huge factor in our potential success. His lock down defense is what every team needs on the perimeter. Once Sessions takes the starting PG spot we'll start looking like a championship caliber squad from the start of the game till the end.
