The Thunder scare the crap out of me

Post#1 » by Aiolos » Fri Mar 23, 2012 12:44 am

Anybody feel that way???

These dudes match up well against us and man if we happen to meet them in the Finals, I'm not sure we take it.

Right now we look like garbage out there and some folks said wait till the playoffs, well we did and lost the Finals.

If Durant also starts coming into his own and can consistently light up Lebron like he did in the last game, sssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeettttttt

The only thing I'm scared of is their 3pt shooting and considering the way we defend the 3pt shot...........

But then again, they don't have Dwight Howard so we won't even have to focus on the man in the middle. So overall no, they don't scare me. I'm even more scared of the Bulls than them.

What about Durant, Westbrook, and James Harden coming off the bench?

James Harden is a real scorer coming OFF THE BENCH for Thunder, that is something we have missed.

Durant worries me especially because last game he completely light up Lebron and if he does that in the coming up games, we really are in trouble.

Westbrook is a fast pg that can really mess up our defense considering how we over help like crazy.

Fisher now joins them and everybody knows this cat gots a mad clutch gene in him and well since hes old now he might have lost it but damn it worries me.

I dont like the match up at all and what makes it worst is that these dudes are more than likely gonna go to the Finals.

Heat was in a funk during that stretch, hell G Wallace lit Bron up also. Durant played 1 good game against bron, and you scared. Small of sample size, but will say guard the three point line, Durant to me is a chunker.

James Harden reminds me of Terry, it's the same thing. That 3rd option (Terry is the 2nd option however) off the bench that can light you up at any time.

Yes, their 3 point chucking is what concerns me the most.

Durant, he's a competitor and he would try his hardest against LeBron, but Durant is a very good shooter. He's tall and LeBron seems to have trouble containing him. He can just shoot over LeBron with those long ass arms.

Then there's Westbrook. He's like Rose in a sense, only I really do believe he tries to be the hero. But his jumper this season looks good.

Idk we'll see what happens on Sunday. OKC looks deep, but it's just James Harden with a sprinkle of other players around their Big 3. Our BENCH would have to play well. And Ibaka vs Bosh is crucial, Bosh would have to own that match up.

Bron have no issue guarding Durant, most Durant points came of back screen, three point line. It was really just a lack of focus during that game. Like I stated it came a rough stretch for the heat, they was on losing spree. Bron just need to play him tight, IMO Durant still have shacky handles, he been a turnover machine along with Wes also. Bron defense has been turn up a notch in this month, so I am looking for a very focus heat D.

Durant also gets more FTA then LeBron even... that concerns me.

He got 19 in his first meeting with us last year.

When we lost to them, it was a rough stretch. But let's not act like Durant scores like 10 points against LeBron, he does very well against LeBron.

Only... LeBron has only lost once to him in his career.

Bulls are the only team who I think could beat us this year

Thunder turn the ball over way too much and their defense is only OK. We'll be just fine against them

Only a defense like Bulls' defense can give our Big 3 trouble in the playoffs. An "OK" defense that comes off an offense(OKC offense) that is very turnover prone, will absolutely SUFFER against us. That is the truth.

That and make sure Ibaka doesn't get those silly blocks.... 8-)

Honestly I totally disagree. I would really be shocked if they even make it to the finals. As long as Westbrook is the PG they simply have too many bad offensive possessions to be considered a serious contender. I don't think they could get past a team like the spurs in the playoffs. Westbrook just gives away too many points a game for his team to win against a smart team in the playoffs.

I would not be surprised to see the Spurs or even the re-tooled Lakers make it out of the West.

Spurs are like a well-oiled machine, and Lakers still have that great frontcourt

Exactly, I said this the other day. Spurs are way smarter than OKC. I was watching their game the other night and most off the offensive plays OKC had was just chucking up stupid threes & jump shots(Mr. Westbrick). That really won't cut it. Especially in the playoffs.

Yeah OKC is TO prone (if we aren't careful, so are we IMO). Durant or Westbrook would have to go off for them to beat us in a 7 game series. It's just OUR defense against them is more concerning to me than the Thunder themselves. Also Harden, we don't have a guy like that so it's a bit harder.

yeah the Bulls and their rebounding gives us issues. This year, the Bulls rebounding has won them games. It's up to us to atleast make the rebounding more balanced like we did last year, being able to win the next 4. It won't be that easy of course.

Yeah... the Spurs are really scary IMO. Crisp ball movement, smart vets, they don't win games on athleticism, Tony Parker is a beast. Ginobili is the 3rd best SG in the NBA, just can't get healthy. Tim Duncan can even kill us with our rebounding issues at his age.

Then, they are deep as hell. I know we blew them out the last time, but LeBron went HAAMM!! then Miller was unleashed. And we played with no Wade. The next game against them will be interesting.

If they add Diaw, I think they can get out of the West. Why? They have OKC's number big time. The Spurs remind me of the Mavs to be honest... and it's been a loooong time since a team not from LA or Texas has been out of the West lmao. I don't know what it is, but I will not be surprised if the Spurs make it. They are better than last year, their Center is short but so mobile and a great scorer too (friggin better than Joel, DeJuan Blair KILLED us last time).

man, I wish our bench would average 40 points a game or something... or even 30. It's too reliant on the Big 3.

Also Popovich is smart and if he meets SPo in the Finals (if we make it), we're screwed. Let the "outcoaching Spo" begin...

In match ups like these is when one of the Big Three has to go GOAT Mode to seal the deal.

If we can make it past the Bulls intact, the only team out west that would scare me are the Lakers/Grizz and their frontcourts. Otherwise, not worried.

Whoever we get from the West are going to be scary, if they weren't it would be a poor reflection on the NBA.

I wouldn't be surprised if the spurs made it out of the West or even the Lakers over the Thunder. I think they'll be shown up in the playoffs;

Having said that I'm not going to worry at all about who we play until after the ECF. If we're in the finals then I'm happy, there's a lot of work to be done to get there. Once there I'll start to worry about matchups. My biggest concern is having a healthy team when we get to the finals not who the opponent is.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

as long as we win the rebounding battle and not let harden/westbrook/durant shoot 40 fts well be good. i expect this to be another KEY game for us this season.
