Pretty appropriate, considering he's running away from a Raptor.

that is a female raptor if you look close enough. Not a lot of people know but female raptors were known to be the most beautiful dinosaurs and often seduced other dinosaurs and stole their food. Fact.

John Hollinger disagrees on David Thorpe:

Dan (NYC)

Thorpe redrafted the 2011 class, placing Tristan Thompson 2nd overall. You agree?

John Hollinger (12:13 PM)

Probably a bit optimistic, although there still isn't really a clear-cut No. 2 at this point. If anything, I'd think Valuncianas might be the No. 2 now. Thompson offers a lot and is still young, but one thing that really stood out last night is his poor finishing skills. He takes forever to stop and gather and constantly loses the ball going up. Also, he can't shoot. He has all the other tools, but he's more of a long-term play.

I think we really got lucky drafting Val last year. I'm crossing my fingers that over the long haul, we'll look back on this as franchise-changing lucky.

Hollinger also used "the dude..." when referring to Ed Davis, which I found amusingly out of character

Can anyone tell me what's different about his game from 2011 draft day to now?

Has he added a lot weight?

Hope Lithuania makes the Olympics, and goes up against Team USA, Spain's, and Argentina's bigs.

Overall improvement on both ends.

To be fair, his D used to be crappy, used to gamble on help D way too much, and his post D just sucked. His D is still shady, but it improved a lot and at times he looks like a real anchor out there.
Big improvement towards fouls area. It used to be a huge problem, not that big of a deal anymore.

Back in 2011, most of his baskets were assisted. He attempted only 6 mid range jumpers in Euroleague last season. So what I want to say, his ISO offense was not a sure thing and looked like its non existing actually.
Its opposite this year, completely new offensive role, he creates more for himself, started to use his already signature face up pump fake and drive move, his post game looks much better and he proves he can actually shoot jumpers.
He also draws more fouls. Last season in the Euroleague his FG to FT ratio was 2.5 to 1, now its 1.8 to 1 (Eurocup).

He also put some weight for sure. So, I think its save to say he improved all the red flag areas, which is fouls, post offense and lack of meat on his bones.

So is Jonas playing in 4 leagues right now (VTB, LKL, Eurocup, and Baltic)? Does that mean it's possible for his team to win 4 different championships?

Nope, VTB, LKL, Eurocup. I'd say it would be an uphill battle to win any titles, but the team should make the LKL finals and has a fighting chance at a Final Four berth in the other two leagues.

raptors_star is right, you forgot Baltic league, so thats 4 different leagues they can win, not 3.
They play their first Baltic league game tomorrow by the way.

I think it's on right this second (or it might be part 1), but the whole thing is on Raptors.com or perhaps more conveniently laid out, right here: http://blogs.thescore.com/raptorblog/2012/03/21/centred-the-jonas-valanciunas-story/
