He may lack elite athleticism, but man is this kid savvy in his foot work and he as solid defense/boarding to boot. If BC can trade Bargs + a future 1st for a second top 10 pick this year, it would be jizz city on this board. Imagine coming out of the draft with Drummond and Barnes assuming Drummond isnt a clear cut top 3 pick. That would definitely make our future so much brighter.

That would be seriously awesome but I don't think it happens.

My take on this whole draft is there's nothing for us to worry about. We're headed for a Top 5 pick and there is much more talent in this draft than people realize I think. Davis, MKG, Robinson, Barnes and Beal round out the Top 5 IMO but there are still other really good talents like Drummond, Lamb or even Sullinger that have big NBA potential as well. We're going to get a good player no matter how you slice it

That said, I still am 100% about the tank. Just because we're going to get a good player anyways doesn't mean we should slack of the tank. The lottery can change a lot and as we know, the higher you all, the higher you stay. In other words, the worse your record is, the less chance you have of falling out of the top 3 or top 5..of course it all depends what your record is like after the season. So slacking off the tank too much could end up doing more damage than good.

My hope is that BC and Stefanski are aggressive in the draft. We need another pick. Doesn't have to be in the lottery but another prospect that can develop into something good. Miller, Moultrie, Ross, Rivers and even Wroten are all players projected to be available out of the lottery that still have significant potential and high ceilings. These players are low-risk high-reward type players and we need to do what we can to capitalize on that. Ed is a prime trade chip...especially if our top 5 pick is a big. Maybe a team outside of the lottery likes Ed better than what's available with their pick and can pick up some cash as well.

*Side Note: I've got a crazy gut feeling that the Top 5 will be (in no specific order) Anthony Davis, MKG, Barnes, Beal and Robinson. If Toronto gets the 6th pick, I feel BC will go with Drummond or Lamb.

True there is definitely a lot of talent in this draft, talent that's definitely worth taking a gamble on. Davis consensus, i just hope we stay top 5 and have a chance at either Barnes, Beal, or MKG in that order. Barnes gives us a legit 1st option scorer, something we really haven't had since bosh. Andrea is a great scorer but when he doesnt do well he loses some motivation. Beal to me is in the mold of a paul pierce james harden type of player. That would be amazing, if he reaches that potential with us, he has all the tools and a high IQ to be an allstar. MKG is seriously going to have a serious defensive stopper career, and the best part is offense can be taught and practiced on. With him we could get a real gem who could also be an allstar in this league if everything pans out. I'm hoping we get one of those three in the order listed and we will be well on our way.

Yeah man. I'm not sure who's going to be the better NBAer out of Beal or Barnes... I've been leaning towards Beal though. I think Harden or a better Eric Gordon is his upside. For Barnes, I think he'll be somewhere around Deng, Granger or Rudy Gay. Him becoming a better ball-handler would open up his game tremendously like it did for Gay. He could also stand to become a better rebounder as well. I'd be fine with either one although I think Beal makes the bigger impact and much more quickly as well.

I hope we don't take MKG unless we have too. I wish him well but I just worry about how his offensive will translate. I just hope that BC trades Ed for Miller. If we go with Beal or we go with a big, it would be nice to have SF prospect who can grow with the team as well. You might as well because it's like Ed's going to be a star and we're pretty packed at PF anyways...might as well fill a hole with a player who's got a real chance to be good. A buy low situation that could pay down the road. I'm sure if he declares, his injury and inconsistent production will scare GMs off and that's where we come in and take a chance. I think Miller could be a Spurs type of steal

why not? He has the handles, shooting and natural scoring ability to not only coexist with Demar(has to be stronger), but with Bayless and James Johnson as well on the perimeter.

Say we draft Beal we can run a lineup of Bayless,Beal,Derozan(or Johnson),Bargs and Val at some point in the game that would give opposing team's headaches. You got two quick scoring guards that can create in Beal and Bayless, a guy who can slash and get to the line in Derozan and another guy that can score from anywhere in Bargs. Need i say more?

Wait, Bayless is staying, nooooooo! If there's a way we can get Dragic, it'd be ecstatic!

Doubt it, but i was just looking at our current roster and just seeing how he would fit with what we already have that's all.

If a could choose Beal or Barnes, i would go Barnes all the way.
Beal is legit, but there are plenty off skilled guards in the league.
Now try to find a 6'8 guy with pure shooting touch, polished offense.
Pretty much all of them are allstars.
Barnes is going to be #2 draft pick you like it or not, and probably we won't get him. Not tanking hard enough.

Seriously doubt Washington would permit Ford to go public with their draft board. Especially this early. So it's probably bs.

Had a great game, though. Carried the whole team on his back.

I would take Beal over Barnes. His game just seems more natural.

I wouldn't, but I'd be glad to have either of them. In fact, any of Davis/Drummond/Barnes/MKG/Beal would be tremendous. Though in all honesty, I'd feel better if we dropped at least one more spot into fourth, because I have a feeling we'd be bumped back again like last year.

And a little OT, but I noticed that the Leafs are also now 5th worst in the league. How's that for MLSE synchronicity?

After Davis I'm still going with Barnes or Drummond (although for Drummond I'd be interested to hear what other teams are offering, especially teams right after us). Then I have MKG and Beal. I think Lamb is still in that mix too.

Not feeling the Robinson love, he'll be a solid player like Blair or Milsap but I wouldn't take him that high.

I didn't watch the later games last night so I missed out on Beals performance. Glad to see he did well.
Another very important thing thats not getting mention here is that Sully had an outstanding game as well. Although the chances that we draft him are small, the better he does, the greater chance a player who we want will slide slower.

I don't know that they told him outright, but think of it, a Wall/Beal backcourt would be formidable. Nene up front (until he starts deteriorating...)

Wall and anyone would be formidable. They have holes everywhere. It does make sense that they would draft him, but this could just as easily be a smokescreen.

As of now, there is clear separation between Davis and the rest of the class. After that, although there might be some gaps, everything is pretty close. This puts our team and us as fans in a great position. Personally, I would be thrilled with everyone of the top 8 players in the draft. I see all of them as potentially great players. What's positive is that BC has shown to be a tremendous drafter. This is the perfect draft for him. Where he will be picking through four or five roughly equivalent prospects and figuring out which one will be the best down the road.

IE BC might decide that Sully is the next Kevin Love and go after him, or think that Beal is the next Eric Gordon and go after him; we'll see, but I have complete faith in BC.

Thomas Robinson reminds me of Derrick Williams last year could be wrong tho. I like Beal and Perry Jones and im not to sure about Barnes he has average written all over him.

Yes, T-Rob reminds me of Dwill but with a better post-skills and rebounding instinct. Harry has average written too, average athleticism that is and I take Harry over PJ3 anytime any day any year. Beal and Harry are mixed up imo, I like them both equally.

Interesting. Why does Robinson remind you two of Williams? To me, there games are not much a like; Robinson relies on positioning and physicality, whereas Williams relied on finesse. Does he remind you of Williams in the sense that a GM might regret taking him that high? Because I see Robinson as a clear cut 4, but Williams is definitely a tweener.

Beal definitely upped his draft stock last night. Completely filled the boxscore.

On another note, I read that Myck Kabongo might declare for the draft EVEN if he's projected to go somewhere in the 2nd round. Anyone else get the idea that's why we have 2 second round picks?

What if we pick Tyshawn Taylor in the 2nd round, I have a feeling that he might be a steal of the draft and the most underrated pg in this draft.

What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.
