It makes a difference because I'm sure scout/espn/rivals scouts watch way more ball at all levels then NBAdraft.net, and actually generate revenue based on scouting as opposed to having a high traffic domain that generates lots of hits ($ from advertising revenue).

Maybe they are good at ranking college players but that and ranking future prospects is a whole other category.

I am involved with college basketball much more than the nba. As a result, I follow a ton of high school recruiting. And I can say that there are tons of players who are ranked without being scouted properly and a result, are placed way out of order. Rivals charges people lots of money for what is most of the time, **** information and poorly scouted rankings. .net is just a few guys opinion on basketball prospects and advertised as being such. Additionally, they provide an infrastructure for fans to create their own mocks with a very active forum.

What about ESPN and Scout? Remember, college ball is different than highschool, most of the players are "pre scouted" before they goto college. Highschool is were players experience the biggest changes since kids are going through puberty, and they have to evaluate thousands of kids to find the ones they rank. The high school rankings are the first rankings, the first evaluations, the first steps. College ball rankings and knowledge is based on highschool more or less.

I agree, they are just NBA fans hence why I said take it with a grain of salt. I'd still take a draft express or ESPN mock draft anyday. What makes it any different if we posted this draft thread in the Raptor forum online and called it nbadraft.ca?? We would have the majority of people with some knowledge, some experts and some people who have no clue what they are talking about. But it's ok for them to analyse and rank prospecs because they are fans.

I'm just saying a fan site has 0 credibility to me, just as much as taking one guys mock draft here over draft express etc.

Although Givony does speak to some scouts/GM's, his biggest factor in ranking prospects is his eye. Chad Ford is much more connected than him which is why their is a big disparity in their rankings; although I would not argue that one is necessarily better than the other.

^ The tough part with being connected though is when to tell a GM or scout is serious about a guy or just blowing smoke up their ass so no one steals their true pick. Say Colangelo tells Ford Raptors are very excited about Barnes, a team below who was hoping Barnes falls now see's the ranking and knows Ford talks with the GM's.

I think there is alot more mind games when it comes to the NBA draft then "who do ya like? Who you gonna take?" etc.

Barnes reminds me too much of DD. I question why you would want both on your team at the same time. Both are streak shooters, who tend to over commit, and neither has good ball handling skills or court vision.

If Perry Jones played with Quincy Acy's toughness/intensity or if Acy had PJ3 size? No. 2 pick in Draft

That's a lie. That player would be the unquestioned #1 overall pick and arguably the next superstar in the NBA.

you're right, that sounds more like a KG prospect than A. Davis tbh. Either way, it saddens me that a player as talented as PJ3 can't show up for every game.

I don't understand why some guys with that much talent don't have a passion to dominate.

If Harrison Barnes wants to legitimize his top-5 ranking he needs to step up NOW! If you only watched this game you'd question why he's even in the lottery, and that's extremely telling when a guy like him doesn't show up in a big game, but especially in big situations.

UNC wins in spite of him not because of him.
him being a no show in the dying minutes or in an important game are nothing new.

Chad Ford:

No one helped their draft stock more than Kendall Marshall. 6 HS All-Americans struggled to score without him running the show
