Memo to Scott Brooks

Post#1 » by sterncohen » Sat Mar 24, 2012 3:02 am

You just played Derek Fisher for 36 minutes, including roughly the last 20 without a break.

This is a very, very bad idea.

As a locker room leader, and guy who can play 8 to 10 minutes a night behind Westbrook, Derek Fisher will help you.

As a guy on the floor throughout the end of a close game, shooting 2 for 11 and guarding no one, he will hurt you.

Pretty much everybody else knows this. You are an NBA coach. You should know it too.

I think it had a lot to do with matchups tonight although I would have rather see Thabo play out there more times than Fisher.

Yeah he is overplaying him now but maybe to try to get him comfortable with the team. Let's see what Brooks does in the playoffs. He will probably overplay him but maybe not as much. Maybe he will play him in a few right situations and compensate for some of the wrong times.
