All depends on lotto position of course but if we slipped, or if we landed the #2 and traded down for future value (GSW or Toronto?) sure I'd be alright with taking Bradley Beal with that high pick.
If we came away from this draft with Brad Beal, Jae Crowder, Fab Melo (and a Eurostash with the Dallas pick) plus the right to swap picks in future draft with GSW, I'd be happy.
We already have the foundations of a smart tough scrappy team, and even if we'd be undersized at many positions, we'd leave bruises on a nightly basis. Imagine a DC team noted for it's defensive toughness. Still no reliable shooting, though Beal and Crowder would help open up the floor a bit. No positive mismatch in our favor, other than John Wall in the open court. No second superstar. But it would be easy to root for these guys on effort alone.
Wall/Mack/Chuck Crawford
Beal/Chuck
???future draft, shooter, or Singleton with an improved jumper/ Crowder
Nene/Booker/Vesely
Seraphin/Fab Melo
Looks to me like we'd have solid defensive eFG. We'd still need improved interior rebounding, and I wish we had a PF with a little range but would force more outside shots for our 2nd line rebounders to grab.
