Crawford has the same hero ball inclination at the end of games. Our opponents know this and take advantage of it.

Actually the exact opposite happened.

Nene whiffed on a back pick as Wall ran to take the inbound so his defender was right on his tail. It was Kirk. A good defender. Crawford then fought really hard to set a pick at the top of the key and probably fouled the guy doing it knocking him to the ground and taking out Kirk in the process. Wall was wide open for 3. Instead he passed it to Mason who was covered on a very good Atlanta switch. So Mason passed back to Wall who worked his way left and tried to use a Nene screen. Nene was confused because he was open up top. He was ready to catch the pass and keep the ball moving but Wall dribbled toward him instead to get a pick. Nene set a late weak pick. Atlanta switched again. Wall pump faked and his defender flow by him and Wall was open for the 3 but missed. That could have easily gone in for the tie.

Atlanta was defending the 3 line because that was what the Wiz needed. Best open shot was Walls first open look after Crawford took out two defenders and left Wall wide open. That would have been with 10 seconds on the clock. Had he taken that shoot people would have been pissed he was a chucker. And even if he made it, ATL would get the ball again with 10 second. Even though ugly, Wall did have a decent look at the end that he could have made.

Needing a 3 ball against Atlanta when you are the Wizards is not a winning formula.

Well then, according to you, the loss was unavoidable do to happenstance. No coaching or PG errors. Keep believing that and we will never become a good team.

I can't put into words how much I hate Crawford's game. I don;t understand why he feels entitled to thing the offensive burden falls on him. He's PATHETIC. 19 shot attempts and no free throws except for 1 tech? What a joke. If you start Maxon next to Wall, Wall would perform better and the team would be more successful..

+1. We watched this nuckle head take MULTIPLE contested 3 point iso attempts in KEY possessions. Even when his shot is falling he still manages to completely kill the offensive flow. He has Andray Syndrom. He makes a bad shot then thinks its a good one because it went in once.

Can't stand watching Crawford dribbling the ball around like a chicken with his head cut off!

Witt needs to stop being held hostage by Crawford, sit him to close games if necessary. Call some fricken plays down-the-stretch also.

Oh, and when you need a 3-pointer to tie the game, Singleton & Wall should have been on the bench, Evans and Mack should would have been increased your chances for a tie %.

What do you guys think is up with Wall? He actually was playing great until Nene came here. Do you think Nene is clogging up the lane too much for Wall or do you think he's just trying to find his chemistry with the adjustments to the lineup?

I still think the system sucks so Wall wont ever be as great as he can be until we get the new coach but he still was playing some good ball until then so this is also something else. Hopefully he'll find his groove more with Nene because if he plays just an average game the last 2 games we are 3-0 after the trade.

Some of it is his inconsistent J because our new bigz kick it back out but he cant shoot the J. I also think Jack-Chuck takes the ball out of his hands too much and isos with bad shots too much. Id almost rather have Mason start with Wall. Even if JC is hot, its fools gold. You cant win that way

The jump shot issue is secondary for me to the fact that he cannot keep his dribble alive to save his life. It really impacts the half court set when he picks up his dribble at completely unnecessary times. He'll learn playing with Nene and proper spacing.

The problem isn't Nene. The problems is Crawford is averaging nearly 16 shots per game since Nene has joined the lineup. After the deal was made Wall should have been the focal point, as he was in the NO game. Crawford isn't going to let that happen though. He thinks that this is his chance to carry the team & its a waste of time for everyone involved. Crawford is never going to be that type of player so he's only continuing his poor habits and his teammates are not getting involved as a result. This is on Wittman also.....Why is he allowing Crawford to hijack the offense?

I'm not absolving Wall. He needs to take ownership. He's trying a little too hard to get Nene involved and he's deferring to Crawford too much. I want to see him shooting 15 times a game....not freaking Jordan Crawford....

I cannot wait for us to get rid of Crawford. The way he's scoring lately, I doubt Wittman will cut his minutes or shots... =(

Crawford brings the ball up or gets the pass, or sometimes demands the ball from Wall (ti looks that way at least) and Wall stands to the side, as observed by others above. I don't know whether that's partially because he's sick of Crawford, or lacks confidence without the ball or doesn't know what to do. It's fine to stand sometimes, sizing up the situation, but Wall's the fastest on the team, and cutting should be his strength, either to create a diversion and draw defenders, get a pass for an easy score, or reset as the playmaker from another location. Sure, Crawford's a dribble and shoot black hole (as compared to Young's more tolerable catch and shoot black hole) but Wall on the move might open up space for Crawford. Crawford occasionally passes to bigs down low too, so why not try to draw someone away from that crowd?

I can wait a little while for Crawford to be gone. I hate his game, but it seems good for the tank, and him scoring in bunches (even in the usually horrible way he does) might make him attractive to some team looking for an instant offense bench spark plug. In the mean time, I want to see Wall trying to make everyone on his team better, even if he (and we) would rather a player the team had a different roster or run a different offense. Wall didn't lose the game last night (that was to me a collective effort) but his body language last night was not telling me that he was looking for ways to win. Fatigue may have something to do with that, but as a fan, I have a lot invested in Wall as a player. I've got nothing invested in Crawford other than a hope that he's eventually gone and the team gets something in return.

They did the shell game contest in the section next to mine last night, and the player chose correctly and won for his section a t-shirt toss, which sounds like something that happens to you in prison.
