Re: Anthony Davis
Davis adjusted to Jones' power moves pretty well, no points for him in the last eight minutes or so. Just took him by surprise and Davis was still wobbly from the injury.

Re: Anthony Davis
It's not like it's just Jones though, it was evident throughout the year - Davis is just not a good man defender at all downlow, he's pretty terrible cause of his lack of strength - most times then not he'll either foul or more likely allow an easy bucket cause his man is just too close to the basket and even with his hands up it's not challenging enough.
He'll get it in time, and he does not shy away from those battles which is half the fight right there most of the time and is a positive sign - but right now thats not a minor, but a very major weakness, that will be even bigger when he comes to the NBA unless he can start bulking up pretty fast.

then how come he has no post game?

Because he was a guard two years ago and most guards don't postup.

Re: Anthony Davis
And he has a very good looking turnaround right hook that he showed on multiple times and it looked pretty much unblock and uncontestable, and one that can easily translate to the next level in a very good way being his go-to move.

Having a post game and a big body aren't synonymous. He already has a nice touch around the rim, and is always a threat if you throw it to him over the top, where he's so long he can just go up and get it.
He's still developing, as has been said, and by every indication, he's got the skills and is a hard worker.

Re: Anthony Davis
His defensive footwork has amazed me since the first time I watched him play in November. First couple of months, he was mainly getting his offense from basically only lobs but in the last month or so, he's shown great flashes of his offensive potential (making midrange shots, even threes here or there, jump hook, nice drives to the basket). His touch around the basket is nice but the ball gets dislodged from him a bit too much and that's only because he needs to add some weight so he can hang on to the ball when there's contact. Superstar in the making if he stays healthy imo. Ridiculous length and physical tools, great basketball IQ and attitude, plays both ends of the floor, has a great offensive skill-set to build on, can't see him disappointing at the next level at all.
Would kill for the Raptors to get him and have a Davis/Val frontline next year.

Re: Anthony Davis
^ The other good thing about him offensively is he didn't really force his offense until he felt it was polished enough to use in game situation. I for one am impressed byt that kind of discipline in a presumtive number one pick. Bodes well for him contributing immediately no matter how raw/polished his offense is on day one. Iw ould trade any combination of players on my team to get that number one pick.
In fact if I were Miami I would call whoever had the number one pick and tell them that Wade was available.

Are you watching that turnaround right hook shot we mentioned btw? that's an unstoppable go-to move right there that can and will translate in the pros.

Every time I watch him, he is what I imagine Dwight would have looked like in college.

The Wiz need this guy so bad. He's the best for Washinton over any other bad team.

Re: Anthony Davis
Ladies and Gentleman, this is your centre of the future.
Did you see what Chandler did for the Mavericks? Tyson Chandler? Yeah, this Anthony Davis guy is going to turn the zone centre in the NBA into a fine art. I think this guy could be better than Kevin Garnett. This is the most agile big I've seen since Lamar Odom came into the league.
Nose for the ball
Timing
Length+++
Athleticism
Hand Eye Co Ordination
Shooting Touch
Perimiter play is the way of the future right now and zone defence will be the typical championship defence soon enough. This guy represents the future of a quicker, less bulky NBA. His lack of strength will be more than account for by athleticism, length and guard orientated rules.

Davis biggest flaw is he might get drafted by the Bobcats. Career over if that happens.

How great would it be for a new KG to arrive after KG retires. Really similar imo.
I hope he has an all-nba career. Way too early to say, but one can still hope.

I was very high on him, and i liked him even more since his father played for 2 seasons in my team in Greece Panathinaikos before join the NBA. After i watched the game last night
The comparisons with Garnett are not far off at all!, and what is more scary is that he looks way better blocker than him!

Re: Anthony Davis
What I loved the most about this kid is Cal said in the 2nd half when LV made thier run he came to him and yelled " Give me the ball! tell them to give me the ball in the post".
This kid is a star.
