Fes is a good player that wasn't used here with the Jazz offence :) I was hoping we would keep him cheap as a backup center but since we drafted Kanter that sunk that plan..

He causes a bunch of prolems down low as far as his size, and is best to lineup against big centers in the league but is slow..

But I like him, hopefully you will make some plays for him instead of a big guy just in there for space. Good signing by you guys.

He's gained a lot of weight since college.
Was he much quicker at 240lbs.?
Any chance we get him to drop a few?

Great backup for center, with a big heart, just like Lou, to keep Noah away from the basket in PO.

I am calling it now, fesenko is going to be a pacer for a while. Smart grab when you can get a mutant giant ukrainian who is 25.

I watched some highlights and saw a guy get under kobes skin hard. this guy has serious crowd power. If he can get in shape and chew up 15 minutes a game, he brings a giant backup at a spot where no other team has that kind of one two punch.

I know the guy has knocks against him, but a defined role, potentially getting 15 minutes a game in a winning situation, working to get a contract, and growth as a human being could all come together and make this guy our funky fan favorite goofy ukrainian.

Why not? Its a perfect situation longish term, and I just think it could pay off very well, for both the pacers and fesenko.

You just don't find giants like this guy every day. I truly believe he can be our backup center for a while, potentially a long time. We need a spiritual guru, and I think Kyrylo Fesenko has that rare quality that you find mainly in big guys, enforcers. That hulk smash je ne sais quoi.

He shall be known as THE JUGGERNAUT.

Was anyone else hoping that the Pacers would get Hickson off of waivers? I was just praying that the Pacers put the claim in and no crappy teams did. Portland started using him immediately too...

Hickson is very talented but I'm not sure we could put him in good use.

I was curious when we'd get to see Fesenko get into a game. I'd seen a blurb on his player page about VISA issues affecting his status, but I wondered if he was ready to play or not. The ESPN rumors page has this:

Center Kyrylo Fesenko signed with the Indiana Pacers last week and The Indianapolis Star reports he is traveling with the team on their road trip.

Fesenko is still not in game-shape so he'll stay on the inactive list until the coaches and trainers think he is ready for some live action.

Fesenko was signed to give the team some cover at center after Jeff Foster

The IndyStar article referenced is HERE. That's all about Fesenko, but it's a funny read because it's mostly about Vogel and some players and coaches attending a Bird/Magic play that's apparently happening on Broadway right now.
