Even Davis isn't a sure superstar but leaps and bounds the 1st choice.
I'm so happy we got Val last year.

agreed, wasn't gay's knock his mentality? Barnes seems to lack talent (at times/when it counts), his athleticism is average at best. I can't quite make out his BBIQ. Not sure how I feel about it.

Davis
Drummond
MKG
Barnes
Beal

Those still remain the five I want and the five we're likely to get, assuming we end up right where we are now after the lottery. (We really need to pass Jersey and get into 4th).

No thanks to Robinson/Sullinger/PJ3, donotwant.

Myck Kabongo ‏ @1MK2
At peace with my decision and ready to move forward. Will drop by LHN 10 am today to let everyone know.

Kabongo apparently made up his mind for next year.

He might as well. His stock isn't going any higher.

I wonder how much $$ Barnes has officially flushed down the toilet by staying at UNC?

Hypothetically, if he went #2 after Irving then he gave up $3.84M.

Further, by deciding to come out in a deeper draft class AND having a terrible tournament (and worse than expected regular season), I'll assume he falls to #5 which earns him $1M less than going #2 which I thought he had a very good chance of going all year.

So, by my calculation, he has flushed $4.8M without including any other revenues earned outside of basketball directly.

WOW.

I see marginal better between these wing players, and they will be selected based on team needs.

Well then you didn't watch Gay at UConn. He looked promising in his freshman season, showing a lot of flashes just like Barnes. So a lot of expectations were placed on him for his sophomore year and he never really improved too much across the board. Everyone wanted him to be an all-around player, he was given Pippen comparisons a lot after his freshman year. But he didn't really show his all-around game, cope with a lack of desire and many times where he would just coast invisibly through games (most evident in their '06 Tourney run where they were upset by some cinderella...I think it was George Mason)

Anyways, anyone that knew Gay at Connecticut would see that Harrison Barnes is basically a mirror image of him. Just like Gay I expect Barnes to fall on draft night, and just like Gay I expect Barnes to make a lot of teams regret it!

LOL Barnes doesn't have any talent? Did you guys miss all of last year? I see more skills in Barnes repertoire than any other wing in this draft. You wannabe scouts kill me!

Gay's rookie season was a disaster too.

@1MK2: 2012-13 will be a great yr 4 our team with everything we've been through! @Sheldon_Mac1 @Jay_Bond2 @SterlingGibbs13 @realjuice12 & Sherlock

Is he staying? I think he has a lot to gain from staying another year but a lot also depends on who UT recruits.

Edit: he is staying. Hope it helps his draft stock.

Really hope we stay away from Barnes. His lack of athleticism is a much smaller concern then his passivity, inability to create his own shot. and most of all, lack of intensity. He just hasn't gotten it done, during this tournament or the regular season (in terms of living up to his potential). Players like that scare me.

MKG has flaws in his game too but the bottom line is he is a leader who makes his teammates better. He has the kind of intangibles every winner needs to be successful, gives 110% every night and has the potential to become an elite defender in the NBA. Players with his competitiveness maximise their potential whereas the Barnes type rarely meet it

Kind of pointless but wouldn't Rudy Gay be a more apt comparison for PJ3? A lot of athletic tools and basketball skills yet somehow can't put a good season together in their first or second year, making scouts question their mindset. With Barnes I feel like the athletic tools aren't on the same level but the production in college statistically exceeds what PJ3 or even Rudy Gay put up.

Apparently Shabazz Muhammad is dominating the rest of the talent. If only it wasn't a contract year for BC next year, I wouldn't mind a season of tank losses (the kind we saw against Chicago) next season. Givony says the scouts present have made it clear they aren't as impressed with the athleticism of the next crop of college freshmen though so prematurely I'd say Bazz is the most likely candidate for #1 in the 2013 draft, and te chances of winning are so slim.

Lamb might be the SG version of Rudy Gay and Barnes might be the SF version of OJ Mayo.

We might need to look at our 2nd round options again, I guess.
We have too many prospects, I don't know what we should pick for these 2nd rounders.

Smart move by Kabongo, he needs to work on his shooting and thats an understatement.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Peyton Siva in the second round will be a steal if the raps select him. Hes got great speed, athletism. Hes a good passer and scorer. Hes just missing the size but i think hes worth the shot in the second round.
