Dragic's future?
What do you guys think the odds are that you keep Dragic after this year? He's restricted, but you have Lowry. If he gets offered $10 million + would you keep him? Can they play together? I guess with Lowry's injury, it's good that you didn't move him at the deadline, but he probably could have brought some good value back. I know Blazer fans are excited about possibly signing him in the off season.

Re: Dragic's future?
Portland is in a good position to sign him since Felton and Flynn are free agents.
Houston should draft his brother Zoran, a 6'5 shooting guard, with a second round pick.
Maybe that will give Goran some incentive to stay.

Re: Dragic's future?
With the new CBA I don't think that you'll see him offered that big of a contract.
We would love to keep him here at the right price, but Courtney Lee is the bigger RFA priority

Re: Dragic's future?
I think we're a better team with dragic and lee than with martin..
And no one in their right mind is offering lee 10m, why does this keep being worried about?
You might as well worry about the empire state building popping out of the ground and walking a few thousand miles just to step on your house.

Re: Dragic's future?
Well to keep Houston from matching, teams have to overpay a bit. And $10 million per isn't that much considering the max they could offer him is 4 years. a $40 million contract for your starting point guard? Not unreasonable. Maybe even make that 4th year a team option like Andre Miller and Andrew Bynum got. Then it's only $30 million and very tradable in two years.

Re: Dragic's future?
You guys are a nasty matchup for OKC in the first round with Dragic at the 2 next to Lowry. If you can get away with it defensively, Houston's old school (tough minded smaller all-around guards) are incredibly tough to stop, especially for a team that features Cook and Fisher on defense. Now that you mention it even Sefolosha will struggle against Dragic.
I look forward to watching a back court of Lowry-Dragic wreaking havoc for years to come.

Dragic is UNrestricted, meaning Houston can't match any offer. So he can basically go to whichever team he wants.

Put down the opium pipe dude, Dragic isn't commanding 10 mill a year. IMO he should be extremely happy with midlevel.

Why not trade Lowry instead of Dragic? Lowry has more value, and Dragic is a very good PG.

it's a very good idea to keep changing our starting pg
2010-11: Brooks -> Lowry
2011-12: Lowry -> Dragic
2012-13: Dragic -> ????

I agree, put down the pipe.
Though I do suppose it'd still be a better contract than say... Al Harrington's last contract...

Re: Dragic's future?
i would only trade Lowry along with others not named Goran for Howard which might be possible this summer. Also, Dragic could be a sign/trade for another quality player(s) or something if we decide to ship him out. I don't see us trading both of these players this summer. We will keep one of the two. I also see the Rockets not trading Patterson.

Re: Dragic's future?
If you think Dragic is getting the midlevel, you are nuts. He could end up in a bidding war and his price could go through the roof. I think most teams will start at 6-7 mill a year but that could get out of control pretty fast. I know he will be the Jazz number 1 target in the off season.
You laugh now at 10 mill a year, but I would not be surprised when the bidding war is over if the does not end up at 8-10 mill a year. There are some teams that really need a PG and will pay for them. I think Portland and Utah are in that boat. And who knows who else will want him.

With what cap space?
I do agree with you otherwise, though.

Re: Dragic's future?
I haven't read the cba at all. What are the sign and trade stipulations now? Can we still do them?
