Re: 27 FGA, 0 FTA
I'm really tired of all the Big Al hate.....Sap gets exactly .5 more FT per game than him and isn't exactly a lock down defender....all while getting less point AND rebounds than Al. I agree that Favors should start but I think that it should be alongside Big Al. Eventually Sap will be the odd man out unless he learns to play SF because the fact is he is too small to play C and proly too small for PF(or at least too small to start there F/T) At least IMHO

Thanks, d-will8, for at least giving it some thought. I agree, Al's not a beacon of efficiency. But nor is he the posterboy for inefficient volume scoring that so many lazily claim. He's such a unique player. Because of his extremely low FT and TO rate, he's probably the one player in the league that points per shot least applies.
Frankly, it's incredible what he's able to do at such a volume without the help of the free throw line. His post game is so fine that he can always create a decent shot without any real help from his teammates except for a screen in the paint and an entry pass.
I can't explain why he doesn't go to the line more. His pump fake gets em every time. It's just his style to use it to get around his guy rather than up into them for the foul. Fun to watch, but admittedly frustrating those times when he could be shooting free throws instead of barely missing a beautiful up and under.

How's Sap supposed to get to the line when the black hole is hogging the ball.

Al takes 4 more shots per game. I would argue that often Sap is a black hole on offense as well but for some reason it is overlooked.....
