Gallo also had bulging disk and needed surgery.

He may be done for the season but that does not mean the team is done. This is an opportunity for Jorts and Jordan to step up and be productive. He will be missed but any good team will step up at times like this. Look at what the Bulls are doing with their leader down, every man is stepping up their game. No Excuses!

Why is everyone so doom and gloom. Let things play out and we'll see the type of shape we are in later this year. We still have a good team and can still make some noise.

Amare will be back next year. Hope he doesnt rush through his rehab though. Back injuries are a pain.

Stop with the doom and gloom bs. I'm still expecting the Knicks to play hard and make the playoffs. This is Melo's time to shine, no more excuses about not knowing why his shot has been off. He needs to carry the Knicks like we all know he can.

I guess Knicks should seriously think about throwing out this lineup now:

Melo
Fields
Chandler
Lin
Shump

I don't think Melo can hold up at PF for long stretches. He doesn't rebound or box out well enough, and the strain of having to defend big men would probably end any hope his offense will come around.

Bulging disc?

Jesus christ, with his back problems coupled with this now is it over for him? Also Baron Davis has a bulging disc right? And he was out for damn near a year.

Jesus.....

And for the people saying "well now is time for Melo to step up and.....", aren't you guys forgetting a couple things? He's still injured & his shot is off. He isn't gonna magically turn into old Melo in a game swing. These aren't superhuman players they're regular folk like me & you
