Amnesty dates

What is the earliest that a player under contract right now can be amnestied? What is the last day that a player can be amnestied?

amnesty is during 1st wk of free agency in july ...approx july 11=17

The reason for the question is that Rashard Lewis' contract becomes fully guaranteed on June 30th(rather than roughly $13.7 million). However that is the end of this season rather than beginning of next season.

Does this mean that amnestying him is not a possibility?

If he is on the WAS roster at that time july 11-17 or so, he can be waived and have amnesty provision applied if that's what they want to do. But you'd think they would have amnestied him in dec 2011 if they really wanted to do so. Still have to pay him if you amnesty him, that's probably part of their thinking.
