Make that 6th in ppg, 4th in rpg and 10th in apg after last night's game. When the season began, If any of us would have suggested that the Jazz would be in the top 10 in the 3 primary offensive categories with Corbin at this stage in the season, we'd have been laughed at..
Sure, there have been some mistakes, and really tough losses ( Toronto, the Knicks, NO) and some odd rotation patterns ( Bell in particular, that's been corrected..) but all in all, I'm pretty pleased with what I've seen this year..

None of our star players have had injuries......
Nice rose colored glasses there bruh...
Millsap - 1 game
Al - 5 games (though 2 were for funeral)
Devin - 2 games
Howard - 8 games including the rest of the season
All starters. I won't even mention Raja Bell, and you could certainly count Watsons injury as being seriously detrimental to this team considering the way he was playing before he went down. But you're right, they haven't had very many injuries, and some of the credit for that needs to go to Ty. Other than the 4OT debacle, he has done pretty well giving starters rest having a larger than usual rotation of players.
I don't think this compares with teams like Memphis (lost their leading scorer and rebounder for most of the year), Minnesota (no Rubio, Pekovic and Beasley both being hurt for stretches), Portland (take your pick), etc,
And Howard wasn;t a starter for most of the year, and Bell SHOULDN'T have been a starter for most of the year...... I don't think it's a coincidence that we've started playing much better once he was out of the lineup, it's amazing what having a guard who can actually dribble the ball does for your offense.......
My problem with Corbin, is that he often sounds exactly like Jerry Sloan....... That is, he refuses to make adjustments, last night's game was a perfect illustration, Jazz are up by double digits, coming off a quadruple overtime game, and yet with 6 minutes to go in the 4th, and opposing team throwing in thr towel, he still has the starters out on the floor.....
Why? Now is the time to have the youngsters get experience, yet he never put Favors back in.....
Favors got less than 20 minutes in that game...... Why? It wasn't his fault Watson played like crap......
I'm perfectly willing to give Corbin a shot, and we won't know anything until we see him in the playoffs....... But I don't like a Coach who sticks to exactly the same thing every single game, that's too much like Jerry, and Jerry never won a champinship....... Precisely because he refused to make any changes to his coaching style......

I love how the credit for our record goes to the Coach, and not to the players...... People are perfectly willing to bash Al, in spite of our record, yet critisize Jerry Junior, and suddenly, you're crazy.......

That's an over-generalization. It should go without saying that both the coaches and players contribute to the w-l record of the team. Coaches certainly take the fall when their team performs poorly, and should receive some of the credit when the team succeeds - no?

I wouldn't blame Sloan for last season, there were all kinds of issues, including a power struggle between Williams and Sloan. Remember, Williams was calling a lot of plays himself. Without the guidance of Sloan and unmotivated this season, Williams has been terribly inefficient. I would welcome a well tempered Williams back, but only if I was guaranteed that we weren't going to get the drama back.

I agree, both deserve credit and both deserve blame.....
Jefferson is our leading scorer and rebounder and shot-blocker, doesn't he deserve some credit for the success of the team? All I see on this board, is how much of a ballhog he is, and how terrible his defense is....... Mind you, he's averaging .1 assists less than Millsap, and has a higher PER.......
I exagerrate my dislike of Corbin, I'm willing to give him a shot, but there are certain things he does which does drive me crazy......
