Cool. I thought he was a better fit when he was 100% than our current 10 day contract player. What's he been doing this season?

And where's Jeffers? Is his knee better?

I applaud, but couldn't we have saved ourselves a lot of trouble by bringing him back earlier when we signed the injured Mo Evans? Perhaps he was overseas. Martin is no great savior, but at-least he is competent and a good guy.

Still think they need another big if there's space on the roster. Don't know who's available, but I'll bet some of Ed Wood's recent posts have some names.

It's a great move for the Wizards to call-up Martin considering he's familiar with the majority of the players and has already shown he can play in the NBA. The Wizards' other options, if anyone was interested, were likely among the players listed here.

And, for what it's worth, Ubiles is expected to return to the D-League's Dakota Wizards while looking to earn another call-up before the season is complete.

My first thought: "Noooo! Don't they remember how Cartier hit that 3 at the end of the last game in 2010 to "drop" us into a tie for the ping pong balls, when we could have had 2nd all to ourselves? He'll ruin the tank!"

Then I thought: "Well, it was that combination (tied for 2nd most) that netted us the top overall pick and John Wall, so I guess it worked out in the end."

Then I remembered: "Wait, it wasn't Cartier Martin, it was Cedric Jackson who hit the 3-pointer." (OK, I had to look up exactly who it was, but I remembered it wasn't Cartier.)

Then I thought: "Yeah, Martin's a cool dude, played pretty well for us. Nice signing."

Welcome Back, Cartier!

I think what Sev was trying to say is that Cartier is a diamond in the rough.

Good signing. He might be better than Jordan Crawford.

I don't think this signing will benefit us much. Cartier has a very streaky player. One game, he'll make like 5 3's in a row, and then, he'll go 0-7 from 3 the next game. He's not the sharpshooter some of you all probably think.

And it's not like we haven't all seen him. If any GM thought he was a lights out sharpshooter, he wouldn't have so much trouble staying on a roster. Streaky shooters work OK off the bench, especially when you have more than one option. Evans, Mason, Martin, Cook, Lewis, this team's loaded with shooters.

You're right, but if my recollection is correct, he was playing well untill he got banged up - and that's when he got very inconsistent.

Leave it to the Wizards to dominate the "market" in "streaky-yet-not-very-good-shooters." Oy.

I'm not saying that it's a bad signing, but I'm just telling posters to temper their expectations. He's not even as good a shooter as Roger Mason IMO.

C'mon man.....

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.
