Re: Amare Has Bulging Disc, Out 2-4 Weeks, Taking Epidural
It is an INcorrect statement to suggest I did not root for Amare when he was playing well for a few games. I did root for him, as I root for ALL the Knicks. I wanna win, period. I NEVER criticized him in the few games (finally!) that he performed well.
But in MY personal opinion, and in my personal opinion only, I heartily believe we will never see the same Stat we saw last year on any consistent basis whatsoever. Would I love to be wrong? Of course! That would probably mean we'd be winning.

Tanking again, I suppose. Is there any other way?

i'm done trying to figure some of you out. the real question is, what's wrong with me ? if you keep going to a place where you think everybody is crazy and you expect them to act sane, doesn't that make you crazy ?

wow he chose rehab over surgery. I have a lot of respect for him making this decision clearly it is for the team. I hope he recovers well. Before I was indifferent about him but I am won over now.

You were wrong. We were winning. And you were nowhere to be found. If you were rooting him on, it certainly wasn't on this particular message board. You say you didn't criticize him? Well you certainly didn't come to praise his play either.
Now he's injured and you're all over the place again, spewing your same BS about how all we'll get is a broken STAT. You're back now so you can provide us with your opinion (agenda) because now the circumstances allow you the opportunity to do so.
Don't get mad that people recognize that.

Is there any known technique for pinning this board to a cross and making it pay for its insufferableness?
Let's put our heads together and make this happen. We have to pay for our sins ASAP.
The way I see it, we have the following options:
1. Stoning
Benefit - the crunching sound as rock meets forehead
Drawbacks - damn liberals and their insufferable human rights
2. Tar and Feathering
Benefit - weighs less than stones so we don't have to worry about hurting our backs lifting them
Drawbacks - some of these guys might actually enjoy it and we can't have that
3. Flogging
Benefit - East River is nearby so won't have to go too far
Drawbacks - i don't want to catch anything from sewage splashing up on me as they're flailing around
4. Drawn and Quartering
Benefit - oh the blood!!!!
Drawbacks - I don't have a horse, do you?

I suggested yesterday that they change the board font color to green. Then nobody would know whether to take anything seriously, ever.

He didnt choose rehab over surgery, the doctors said rehab over surgery, but he will probably get surgery in the offseason.. I think Stat had this bulging disc for a little while but just didnt feel it until the Detriot game, he clearly turned wrong or did something to his muscles. I think if Stat never strained muscles in his back in the Detriot game, he would still be playing right now possibly not knowing he has a bulging disc( alot of people have bulging discs and dont feel it, but alot of people do and it locks them up)
Stat will probably come back in 3 weeks and play 2-3 games and practices before the post season (hopefully we do make the post season) to get some rhythym back and get his blood flowing... Who **** knows there going to shrink the bulging disc and strenthen his back and core to stabilize it and hopefully prevent anything else happening again

Let me see if I've got this right: If I was rooting for Stat when he was FINALLY playing well for a few games, in the comfort of my own establishment but not in public view, then that doesn't count in your book? It's not ok for me to root for him privately whilst I'm watching the game on TV?
I seldom post in the Game Threads--I'm not a fast enough typist to watch the game and also comment on it. Sorry, I'm old.

Re: Amare Has Bulging Disc, Out 2-4 Weeks, Taking Epidural
Amare catches a chocking amount of heat from this board and people in general when the guy has never been anything short of an astounding player with an unparalleled work ethic and who has overcome the kinds of problems that would cripple most athletes, let alone people.
He is an outstanding leader and has not once complained since he's been here, not about a thing
I have huge respect for the guy. Those of you who undervalue him, his resilience, his work ethic or his heart souls seriously check yourselves.
He's never been a good defender, granted, but he's a great leader and tends to rise to the ocassion when needed.
I think getting Amare back for the playoffs will be a huge boost both emotionally and talent wise.
Don't underestimate the guy

i think amare is done, he comes back will be a shell of himself and his defense will be non existent. If he comes back and looks terrible they might just need to shut him down. jeffries will bring that defensive fire you need to win playoff games.
this is the lineup we really might have to roll with

QFT. Knick fans are way too quick to throw their own guys under the bus.

Not true. 2-4 weeks is a very optimistic diagnosis. 2 separate doctors agreed with this timetable.
If they said 4-8 weeks, then that would be troubling.

Co-sign both of you guys...it's sad how quickly Knick "fans" turn on their players. We saw the same thing happen with our fanbase and Ewing once he got injured, then we drove him out of town for 50 cents on the dollar, only to get back Glen Rice, Luc Longley, and Travis friggin' Knight.
In this day and age, there's no such thing as patience. It's always the grass is greener, and let's see who we can dump quickly to try and find a quick fix. It's no surprise that the successful teams in this league all had some continuity with their rosters. We need to be patient.

Some of you guys are hyperventilating over stuff you don't know anything about. Anybody who gets their hopes up for Amare to be a playoff ready player is just setting themselves up for disappointment. The energy some of you are expending, ACTUALLY ARGUING, over reading tea leaves when none of you know anything is pointless. They say 4 weeks, 2 weeks, its meaningless.
Go ahead and fight over it. Play amateur doctor. It makes people look silly when they take strong positions on something like this. It makes you look crazy to think there is any factual basis for stating what his condition really is and if and when he'll play again. We're all in the dark. Stop BS'ing yourselves and pretending this is a subject worthy of debate. Its pathetic to argue over this.
And when he plays, you don't know if he will be able to do much of anything. He did jackchit for a long time after his last injury, so getting him back in uniform still is no guarantee he will be useful. Christ, save your breath already and just wait and see what happens when he plays again which is basically WHENEVER.
Your crystal balls don't work here.
