Because not having a jumpshot means you aren't an NBA player. Lets forget the 5rbs, 1blk and 1stl in 20 minutes. Also more hustle, energy than any of the starters. If the best Earl can be is Jared Jeffries, that is still valuable player.
The guy is completely lost on the court, he runs in circles, his learning curve is very slow, he's a big man with a fg% of 39, he's regressed from last year, he has no offensive game, he can make the occasional good play on defense and shows potential every once in awhile, but he's still a major project, talented in some areas, needs work, a lot, might be better suited for a non structured system, but having him in Stan's structure might benefit him the most in the long run
the regression could be the fact that he gets rare playing time at all. he might not know what to expect. He could go out, not shoot a single shot, provide defense, energy and rebounding, be a good spark plug, and not see the floor again for 20 games.
