Vadim : We are ready Fedor to fight in UFC.

Post#1 » by Gold Chain » Thu Mar 29, 2012 8:35 pm

(Borrowed from other forum, yeah, I do that. :D )

We are ready to have Fedor fighting in the UFC, it’s just that we need a normal offer.

http://lowkick.blitzcorner.com/UFC/Vadi ... -UFC-15526

I really want Fedor to fight in the UFC before he gets too old, or older.

It'd be hilarious to watch Dana do a 180, a la Kimbo, and start talking about how he was good.

I know it most likely won't happen, and sorry to open old wounds, but man, how rad would this be?

One can dream. (Again.....)

Hmm, a lot of these reports lately. Last time it happened it was just leverage for Fedor to get a bigger contract for NYE fight, but with no NYE fight imminent, maybe this is for real this time.

Dana WAS talking the other day about how Pride's HW division was the best back in those days, and how many legends were fighting there, maybe that was to pave the way for Fedor in the ufc (one can hope).

The customer is always right, and Fedor would be a huge draw. Unfortunately, I don't think that it ever happens.

According to Dana, he won't bring Fedor over.

Screw Fedor. He had his chance and now that no one wants him he suddenly wants in the UFC.

Fedor needs to retire. I could not care less about ever seeing him fight again. I turned that Monson fight off.

So was Royce Gracie. No one wants to sign him for a $1,000,000 + back-end + co-sponsorship anymore.

He needs to fight in 205 imo. He can compete in HW by may not get title contention. I still believe he can beat anyone, anytime.

I don't think Fedor is as good as JDS/Cain etc., but you guys really think he would embarrass himself in the hw division?

Lose two straight fights to top 5 guys and then get the boot? Sure. But its still the HWs we are talking about here. Mark Hunt may be a win away from a title shot lmfao.

I think so. Cain and JDS for sure. I'd think Mir would probably smash him pretty good too. Reem, Carwin and even Congo I think would beat him fairly easily. Roy Nelson possibly, hell, even Matt Mitirone can probably handle Fedor.

he won a bunch by the skin of his teeth right before that. his skills did not look up to par. the only world class skill he has had in a long time was 'finding a way to win'. I don't think that cuts it. It's not 2005.

Obviously Fedor would be an interesting addition to the mid-tier of the HW division in the UFC. But, for what it would cost to bring him in, I can not think of a single Fedor fight that intrigues me. All the top guys (JDS, Reem, Cain, Mir) would tool him, and you can't let a guy making a ton of money fight people like Ben Rothwell or Stefan Struve.

The time for Fedor to the UFC has passed. He was cut by the UFC's ugly step brother Strikeforce after all. If he wants to keep on fighting, he should drop his demands and sign with Bellator.

re-match him with Lindland, that's the only fight I really want to see. put him in with a standing grappler like that.

Matt Mitrione? Roy Nelson, the guy who lost to Jeff Monson, and didn't have a 3-fight win streak because he got the retirement bout against CroCop? Congo, the guy who just lost to Mark Hunt?

Fedor was 31-0, and then he lost to Werdum, Big Foot, and Hendo. His last 2 weren't against the best competition but he's looked better. He still has amazing hips, elite sambo skills and a dangerous overhand right.

IMHO Fedor would beat Werdum in a rematch by not aggressivly diving into his guard, and I think that he could take Mir also. I also think that he has a chance against anyone outside of JDS and Cain. He could hit Reem's suspicious chin with an overhand right. He could find a way to win. He's only 35...I'm not saying that it's a guarantee that he wins these fights but I'd like to see the opportunity.

Mir is my favorite fighter behind Pettis, and IMO Fedor is too fast for him. The only guys I would FOR SURE bet on to beat Fedor would be JDS/Cain/Overeem.

Talk like Roy Nelson and Matt Mitrione handling Fedor is absurd imo. Could they beat him? Its HWs, it could happen, but Mitrione has to be the most overhyped fighter in the world for beating Kimbo Slice and the fat Mexecutioner lol. Nelson/Fedor would be a fight I'd love to see.

And Fedor isn't even one of my favorite fighters or anything, so I'm not some delusional Fedor fanboy living in 2005. I'm just realistic about how horrible the HW division is IN GENERAL, in any organization.

Again, if they brought him in they'd probably throw him through the gauntlet and be done with him. Fight the loser of Overeem/JDS, then fight Cain or something. Lose those two, Dana claims Fedor always sucked, and throw him to the curb. But if they brought him in and just started making matchups: vs Werdum, vs Nelson, vs Mir. He could make a run, as sad as that is.

I dunno, I think Fedor has aged a lot recently, and has shown that he just isn't big enough to handle the big guys anymore. The latter part of that statement is more why I think guys like Kongo and even meathead to a lesser extent would handle him. I think Mitrione and him would be fairly even, and Fedor may even win, but at this stage, what's the point in that? It just seems to me like his UFC ship has sailed.

The door was open for him when he had lots of hype and now that there isn't any hype, he wants in... he's already been talking retirement for a couple fights now, that's not the time to step into the UFC. I love Fedor, but that ship has sailed imo.
