I still want to win every game this season... The Blazers will get a lottery pick from us either this year or next year I'd rather give them this year's pick since if Deron bolts we're talking about giving up a ridiculously high pick in next year's draft.

Essentially I'm rooting for the Blazers to get as low a pick as possible from the Nets

On another note... Anthony freaking Morrow. This guy really needs to get his act together I feel like he's been off all season. :-/

Wallace made you guys a better team and you don't have to worry too much about having a lower pick. I think there's a very decent chance the nets wind up in the 9-10 range but obviously that's pending how a few more teams in that 17-20 win range do.

On another note, Wallace beasted it up for you guys last night. :o

If we continue this hot streak, this is going to encourage Deron that this core group can compete in this league. And with additions in the offseason from FA, draft, and trades it could convince Deron to stay.

No matter how crappy we finish the season, we are probably not going to get the pick. CHA is a lock for worst record, WAS a lock for 2nd worst, and there are a lot of other teams vying for that 3rd worst record. So we are going to have an outside chance of getting that 3rd pick. Even if we tanked we would have to get lucky.

We have to look to win and convince Deron that this team can compete, and with a productive offseason and all the Brooklyn stuff that should be enough to make him want to resign.

And the team will still have a shot at one of the top 3 picks even if we drop to 7th or 8th. 3 out of the last 5 lottery winners have come from teams with the 7th-9th worst record (Rose, Irving, Oden drafts).

Hopefully you guys are right, and don't get me wrong, if i thought there was even a slim chance of getting to the playoffs i would gladly accept any win, even if it meant that we would get bounced by the Bulls, but due to the fact that this ship has long sailed i think we should attempt to maximize our chances to get a better position at the lottery.

I think the trade was especially bad because of the type of player G-Wall is...dude won't give up or quit, and will always give 110%. That's rubbing off on everyone else, and even Deron's trying hard, even though it's a lost season. So now we're not tanking, but we're not going to be good enough for a playoff spot.

But whatever, I'm expecting nothing but bad things in our future. Might as well see us end the year strong with some wins.

But then again, we've been playing crap teams...LA is going to rape us, Portland is winnable but they probably win, and I haven't even looked at our games past that, but whatever, we'll see.

The only good that can come out of this is DWill sees what he can do with this team. I don't think he's being genuine when he says the remaining games won't change his opinion. He still talks about the Nets as his *organization* when referring to the future, so that's a good sign.

i guess im just mindlessly rooting for wins at this point, my interest is sort of floating in limbo until i see how things transpire this offseason, at least after that point the mists will begin to clear and i can begin to form a picture of this organizations prospects going forward. its so absurd that weve been robbed of our 1st this year, just the most deflating thing imaginable to me, giving up a top 5 pick for a 30 year-old 3 potentially on the last year of his contract... just an utter embarrassment, why should i have any faith in kings ability to make moves going forward after that? and then i think about those 3 home losses to those 3 terrible teams immediately after the trade, and its just like **** this team, **** this coach, i dont buy into this 3 game "streak" one bit, the second we get blown out by some random bad team, deron will start sulking, avery will start blathering his platitudes, and all the good will will be gone.

yeah, I agree with everything you said.

I don't even know what to root for anymore. There's no assurance that we'd get a pick in the top 3, if we lose and there's no guarantee of Deron staying if we win.

We will, but if you look at the math it's incredibly unlikely. Even if we tanked and had the 4th worst record in the league we would have around a 40% chance of getting a top 3 pick (not willing to tank for that percentage).

If we tanked with this roster there would be no way Deron would stay even if we got a top 3 pick. This roster has enough talent, even without Brook, to compete in this league and should be around .500. If we continued with a crappy record it would indicate that we have a problem here that is not a talent issue, but a mentality or leadership issue. If that were the case Deron would not any part of that cancer even if we brought in some talent.

We need to give up on the pick. Move on. The only way Deron stays is if we start gelling, winning, and start having fun. That win @Sac was the happiest I have seen this team in a long time. A first 3 in a row and 4out of 5 will do that even against crappy competition.

We have enough cap room and pieces to make major moves this offseason and if Deron ends this season happy with the current team IMO there is a good probability he will resign. We need to root for that.
