At this point why bother? I mean I like Cartier, but this would of made sense all-star break or earlier. Plus now we gotta listen to Buckhantz tell the story of "The Cartier Files" starring Joan Collins & David Hasselhoff the rest of the season.

What is funny to me is this team still doesn't have the SFs it needs.

Where is Othyus Jeffers ? His knee should be better by now right ?

Seems they let Gee slip on by.

Welcome back Cartier.

They should have left a slot open all year so they could make these kind of moves. Sad they needed an injured Mo on the team just to raise the maturity level. See Nick and McGee. They may play well elsewhere but they were a problem here.

I think they still do have a slot - and have had a slot open for most of the season. They've just chosen not to use it.

I think that the Org has gotten an extended look at the offensive ineptness of Vesely and Singleton and now they want a stretch of games where they can field a semi-competent team that might shoot better. We may see this kind of line-up for a bit after Martin has practiced with the guys for a bit.

One would think.

Because Martin has been here before, I wouldnt be surprised at all if they go to him right away. There is a big hole at scoring SF. I hope they bring in other players at SF, SG and even PG. Though PG is harder to plug in.

To bad they couldn't have kept Shawn Livingston. Is 3.5M to much for a back up PG. Maybe.

Martin might make the roster next year depending on how the draft shakes-out. Didn't need a warm-up game at all. Let's see what he does with his 10-day.

No reason not to sign him for the rest of the season. Not going to find a player in the D-league that can come right in and play with this team AND he fills our need for a shooter.

Ok. I'm drinking the koolaid.

I think not only does Martin stick but I think he is ready to be a stud and a core piece on the team that is sorely lacking a quality SF.

After all the young mans travels, I think he has sharpened his skills, his mind, and the is hungry. Not only is he hungry but I think he is ready to execute on his potential. I think he sees this as his time to get it done. At 27 his chances are running out. He doesn't have time to let this opportunity slip through his fingers. The SF spot is wide open on this team. I also like that he has been here before so he has an instant comfort level. He knows the city, the organization, most the players and the coaches.

He is the perfect size at 6-7 220 and he can do it all. Shoot, defend, rebound, dribble. He has a great personality. He is mature at 27 but still young. He is smart. I like the total package.

I can see him and Nene gelling well together as leaders on the team.

Nene, Martin, Mason make for a decent group of leaders for a young team. Not counting Wall out of the group but he isnt as mature as those guys are. That is a solid group to help Wall grow up as an NBA leader.

I know I am jumping the gun. I just see all the pieces lining up for this young man. Its right there for him to take and I like his chances to do it.

Bash away but I'm drinking the Koolaid. I really hope he does what I think he can do. I'm not calling for him to be an All Star just yet but I can see him as a very viable SF. Someone capable of starting on a decent team. Once he show that, it will be time to re-evaluate his ceiling.

A couple of more solid games and I think we lock him up for cheap....unless we have another Alonzo Gee situation with Martin and some team catches Ernie napping again.

I'd sign him to a guaranteed contract for next season for the vet minimum. What's the harm? It's chump change - relatively speaking. He's a good fit - why not make the small commitment it would take to keep him. He'd be the equivalent of having that second high 2nd rounder that some of us were talking about. Even if there's only a small risk, why risk losing him - ala Al Gee?

I hope it works out where they can sign him cheap. I can think of a couple scenarios where it might not be as easy as signing him to the vet min. It may take more then that. It all depends on how much confidence he has in his game right now and whether the Wiz sing him to a second 10 day. If they do and he keeps balling, he might find a market for his game. Just depend on if he breaks out like Lynn did. Lyn signed for 1 year at 760,000 and that is going to really cost NY next year because they didn't sign him for longer sooner.

I guess we will see soon enough.

After struggling this many years, if someone offered him a guaranteed NBA contract, I think he'd react like it was Christmas time.
