Kobe admits to being fatigued, he'll be fine

LOS ANGELES -- After a historically bad shooting game, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant admitted fatigue might have been a factor after the Lakers' 88-85 win over the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday.

"Fatigue might have something to do with it, but I had good shots," Bryant said after starting the game 0 of 15 before finishing 3 of 21 from the field. "You figure ways to work through it. I have a great team here and a lot of support. I really pushed myself defensively tonight to get after the guys, so sometimes you have to sacrifice a little bit of the offense and the stamina that you have to defend. That's what we believe is going to get us to the championship."

Bryant, 33, ranks third in the NBA playing 38.6 minutes per game. The 16-year veteran said his tired legs have come from the compact 66-game schedule caused by the lockout more so than playing nearly five minutes more per game than he did last season.

"It's probably the schedule," Bryant said. "The schedule is a little crazy. But, I'm fine. It's going to be OK. I'm going to figure it out. I always have."

Its unfortunate that kobe being overworked has led to this low in his play, but i'm sure come playoff time when there's a little more rest we'll get a much better kobe. in the mean time i hope he allows his teammates to take some of the load off his shoulders.

go kobe, go mike brown, go lakers.

Hoping Lakers can gain some ground on the Clippers, just so we can get Kobe rest. It will do him wonders. Come playoff time though, with the day on, day off schedule...Kobe might come alive.

unite the flock, dock

Also coming from a Kobe 'apologist', Bean definitely has to pick up his game and more importantly trust his teammates more. His last month's shooting AND floor game have been horrawful.

Kobe is 3rd in mpg.

The thing is he is first in total minutes played this season. Mike doesn't want to rest him though. The hornets announcers even said it, that Snyder told them Kobe never gets tired in their eyes.

**** they are killing him and he has only missed 2 practices this year because of that concussion, so there is literally no rest time

MB is a jackass!
Phil would have never let Kobe play all those minutes!
I seriously hope we fire Brown and hire someone like Jerry Sloan!

And Kobe is stubborn enough not to ask for any rest and probably react against it.

That's not his job though. Mike Brown is the moron for playing him to the ground and making matters worst then they would be.

It isn't an excuse to say Brown has mismanaged his minutes. Kobe has played 12 games this year where he has not sat for. Second of the third or 4th quarters. 2 of those games even had overtime and double overtime which he never sat in.

Mike hasn't even gave him practice off so he has mismanaged him, there were games we were losing like vs Miami and Orlando where the W was out the question yet mike kept him out there in the 4th unlike the other starters to keep the margin respectable.

If it was anyone else they would be praised for playing that hard or they would get hurt out right

If i remember correctly Kobe played less minutes when Sessions was coming off the bench, because he (sessions )was playing almost all the minutes that kobe was off the floor, so our team was able to perform well enough to give Kobe more rest. Now that Sessions is starting (as he should be), Brown insists on only playing Sessions when Kobe is on the floor, as a result making our team weaker when Kobe is off and giving Kobe more minutes. There is absolutely no excuse for Kobe's poor play, but I think we could all agree that we'll benefit in the long run if Kobe plays fewer minutes. I just don't understand why Brown can't manage the simple task of starting Sessions while still giving him all the minutes when Kobe is off, as he does with Bynum. I just don't understand it....how can you be a professional coach, yet be so idiotic to figure out something so simple. Sessions is a beast in the fast break, yet he's being held down by the slow pace of the starting 5...he can easily start and finish each half, while still playing the first 6 minutes of the second/fourth which Kobe can sit.

He did the same to LeBron who complained he was tired vs Boston and Orlando. He just had the decency to run him in the ground those postseasons. While here in la he has Kobe going 40 hard a night and without off days in a condensed year, another reason he was a dumb hire over a guy who has coached in a lockout before like Adleman, Sloan, or played in one like Shaw

You know Kobe is either getting old/tired or believing in himself less when he actually admits to something like this.. first sign of weakness Kobe. He's done :''(
