D-Wade's nephew shot in Chi-town

Post#1 » by RhapidKid » Sat Mar 31, 2012 1:30 am

Wade's nephew was shot in Chi-town today. Quite sad how the streets of Chicago are.
Wade's nephew shot

And some people say Miami has so much crime. Spare me the talk, bro.

Hope he gets well soon.

Glad he's OK.

Sad thing is, if you live in/near a major metropolis similar things, you'll hear similar situations happening in the news daily. Innocent people being harmed by scum for no reason.

Most people on the GB have been reasonable about it. It's unfortunate that the lunatic fringe always makes the loudest noise.

These people and their agendas against the Heat are pretty disgusting. Really shocked at what I read on RealGM regarding this.

Its such a shame that Chicago has become such a violent place.

I live in the middle of Philly and Id much rather walk on the streets here than there, and that wasnt the case before.

That city is becoming a sad, sad shell of itself. Hope it doesnt become like Detroit, assuming it already hasnt.

Show me where it says the kid lives in that neighborhood and attends public school there.

Wow A lot of Chicago/NY fans are pathetic.

There are some good rational ones but boy a lot take hate and butthurt-ness to another level.

Dude, it is the south side of Chicago. It has been like that for the past 20-30 years. If you want to live in Chicago, the rule of thumb is to stay on the north side. If you want to be politically incorrect, the rule of thumb is to look at the demographic of a neighborhood and to stay the hell away from areas with more than 70% black.

Rule of thumb? Um, what's going on with this country that after 30 years, nothing has gotten involved to clean that mess up then?

Lots of areas in this country were pretty bad, but even now it isn't as bad as it was decades ago and for Chicago, nothing has changed. It's still the same old 80's/90's "thug life" era.

Well, the north side of Chicago has become much nicer. A lot of the efforts to gentrify the west and south sides have only been enacted in the past 5-10 years. You need to give it another 15-20 years.

Miami was the same way. Anyway, they need to clean the street in those areas first with more police but also more community awareness and pride. The thing is that a lot of big wigs are realizing the potential of areas slightly west and south of downtown. So, there has been a lot of gentrification in those areas in the past 5-10 years. It will eventually get done especially if there is a lot of support from big boys.

Years ago I woulda said Miami was a top 5 crime city(especially Overtown), but really, you can't deny things are much better. If I had to pick the 5 most crime ridden cities right now, I'd say:

D.C., Chicago, Memphis, Detroit, St.Louis in no particular order.
