Keeping the players as they are, only if Durant starts averaging 33-35 ppg on the same number of shot attempts would I consider him on LeBron's level.

LeBron's passing / transition speed / defense is just on a higher level than Durant's.

But rings are a team accomplishment, and Durant would have to put up huge postseason numbers and win Finals MVP's to eclipse LeBron. As a player, he's not that close IMO, at this point. His best bet is if he moves to PF and has 30/10 type seasons with good defense. If they both remain at SF then LeBron is just too productive. He already has two MVP's, probably will get a third...

Agree.

Durant won't ever be better than LeBron, because LeBron can score. Durant will have to impact the game in more ways in order to be a better regular season player than LeBron. This would take him to move PF and be someone like Garnett or Dirk to surpass LeBron. Or prove he is better by winning rings and beating LeBron head to head.

Rings or changing the position.

KD is actually starting to be considered better than LeBron now. It has more to do with LeBron's decline and Durant's hot play recently though.

Durant doesn't go hot or cold often. Somtimes he is uninterested. But not for a large stretch.

There's just way much more hype on LeBron than Durant. Perhaps if Durant was known for being a PF rather than a SF....
