Golden State!!!!!

Post#1 » by blackham9258 » Sat Mar 31, 2012 5:06 am

They had 3 at home and could have should have won them all. They are tanking from their managements perspective, but the players are playing to win. They frittered away an unexpected win against LAL, then laid an egg against a likley win versus NOLA, and tonight gave up a 14 pt lead in the 4th quarter to NJ and lost it at the end of the game.

What a joke!

Our pick is lost because of these three games. Had they won them all or just 2 of 3 they would have remained at #8 or above. Now, some combination of: NJ, SAC, Cleveland, or Detroit will pass them up in wins.

This just sucks.

Next year they will have a much better team in a much weaker draft... we could have really used that #8 pick, and our own if we missed the playoffs to move up to top #5 to get a stud.

So frustrating!

With their luck they'll finish with the 7th worst record and get leapfrogged in the lottery pushing them to the 8th spot. Haha that would be epic.

Next year is a better draft.

Not really, besides, Warriors will easily be a playoff team next year.

I think it's better at the top, weaker toward the end. I'm still not convinced the Warriors make the post season next year. IMHO, the following teams all have a good chance at being much better:

LA Lakers
LA Clippers
San Antonio Spurs
Oklahoma City Thunder
Utah Jazz
Portland Trailblazers
Houston Rockets
Minnesota Timberwolves
Memphis Grizzlies
Dallas Mavericks
Sacramento Kings

Including the Warriors, that's 12 good teams competing for a playoff spot. I'm not convinced Golden State is better than any of those teams, which would leave us with the 11th pick in an ideal situation along with our own - which gives us leverage to move up for a player we really want.

Don't fret. The Jazz will have one pick whether it's the Warriors or ours. I'd honestly prefer to have their pick next year instead of having two this year. Who would the Jazz trade up to get? They need a PG and the best PG's are late lottery anyway. Fingers crossed for Kendall Marshall!!!!!

The Warriors still hold down the 9th spot in the lottery standings in spite of their current performance. Granted they are closing the gap (1 more win than Pistons, Nets--2 more wins than Kings--3 more wins than Raptors, Cavaliers) but still trail those teams by 3-5 games in the loss column.

There is still plenty more games to play.

I would like our pick to jump into the top 3, and pick Andre Drummond. Then trade Millsap/Bell for Igoudala.

Yea, Warriors are tanking, but that's how it is and we could use the lottery pick as well. We could transition to a top 4 team with a starting SF in the draft. Expect a pick in the mid teens at best next year

No way GS gets into the playoffs next yr!!! NO WAY!! That team is one of the most injured teams around and I don't see that being fixed next yr.

By the way what is the protection on our pick for next yr? Plus next yr we get the GS pick from pick 6...

Our pick next year is top 12 protected.
Curry and Bogut are often injured, but on paper, they're a good team. Should be fighting for a playoff spot if healthy next year. That's a big if though.
Anyone else thinking we're not getting their pick this year? They have 15 games remaining and looking at their schedule, I'll be surprised if they win more than one game out of those 15.

The Warriors have a good roster and with the lottery pick, should be a top 5 team in the West talent wise. Health is the major factor, but pretty much all positions are covered well

Steph Curry - Klay Thompson - David Lee - Andrew Bogut
and nothing else. Not a playoff team.

I don't see GS magically becoming a playoff team next year with injury prone players and no winning experience. Not saying they won't be talented, and maybe in the east, but west is too tough. Who are they gonna supplant, not just out of the top 8 but out of the top 11?? Maybe Phoenix if Nash leaves but that's it

Keep dreaming! GSW can't go from a loser organization to top 5 in the West in one year. The West is way too tough. What a naive statement.

Steph Curry + Klay Thompson + David Lee + Andrew Bogut + Joe Lacob(Lack of Integrity + Desperate) = No Playoffs for GSW in 2013 nor 2014

Please note the Joe Lacob algebra.

Another entirely emotional stament by migya. Please go to NBA.COM and review the current NBA standings, and note the Jazz's proximity to making the playoffs right now. No dreaming about how good they might be in the future, they are in real contention for the playoffs right now!

Please make your GSW homer statements in that forum. Most are not really interested in seeing inflated GSW comments here, and don't see the Warriors making the playoffs anytime soon.

There's still a pretty heavy lid on the western conference. Portland and Phoenix do look ready to slip to the bottom, but Minny and Utah should be better next year. It's hard to imagine teams like Golden State and Sacramento ever breaking through. It's as if no matter how much talent they amass they just don't know how to get there.
