People think tanking will help us a whole lot...

We might draft the same player at #12 that we would draft at #10. I would love to see the Blazers compete the rest of the year than give up. Of course I want development first, but that comes with competition.

I'm starting to wonder if we'll end up having to hand our pick over to the Bobcats..

What would Portland's record be if they had fired Nate back in January?

We've got a rough schedule coming up with 7 road games in April including
4 of the last 5 games. Picking 8 and 12 would be okay for we will still be
in position to draft Marshall if the coaches like him after they work him
out with our own pick.

Marshall will be gone by 12 unless he has terrible workouts(which is entirely possible depending on how long it takes his broken wrist to heal).

I don't know if that's true. I think there are some serious questions of if he can score at the NBA level.

This draft is pretty tough to pin down honestly.

Portland traded the 2013 pick. No risk for this year !

Yup, I was mistaken. Hopefully they get it next year though, since that'd mean we'd (more than likely) be a playoff team.

I think we will be a 5 or 6 seed next year assuming we can add a solid rotation
player in free agency. I would caution about expecting much from our rookies
for these guys will be 19-20 years old and will need time to adjust to the pro
game.

If we sign Batum, Hickson and perhaps and either a Hawes or Dragic in free
agency, we should be improved for a Eliot Williams should be a solid backup
to Matthews, Nolan Smith will be better and our rookies will hopefully be
able to contribute by mid season. One thing to wonder though is whether
Hickson will be the same guy we are seeing now after he signs a new contract.

Milwaukee won tonight which is good while the Wolves are losing to the
Kings which is not good. The Wolves are playing some horrendous ball
for I can't believe the loss of Rubio is making such a difference for
them.

Tonight's game with the Jazz seems like a lot of the games I've seen
with them when they had Boozer. They always seem to be tougher
then us and reinforces the notion that we would really struggle to
win 1 or 2 games against a playoff caliber team when the play slows
down and half court basketball is the rule.

Toronto may actually get a win tonight. They're up 4 with 47 seconds to go in the 4th against Charlotte. But that shouldn't give anyone much hope for them picking up many more wins if they need to go down to the wire to beat the Bobcats..... Spoke too soon. As I was writing this, Augustin hit a 3pt shot, only a 1 point game now with 40 seconds left.

Detroit is beating Orlando by 8 points with about a minute and a half left in the 4th. And Golden State is beating the Grizzlies by 9 entering the 4th quarter.

Lets hope the upsets don't continue onto the Nets vs Lakers game.

Well, if New Jersey is going to pick up a surprising win, I'd rather have it be against the Lakers than anyone else. :D

The Golden State tank job is refusing to let up. They've squandered their lead and are already trailing half way into the 4th.

The Warriors are doing what I had hoped we would be able to do post-deadline: lose almost every game by a small margin.

Tomorrow's game with the Nets is going to be a 50/50 affair for somebody
has to win and while it would be nice to chalk another loss, it's in our best
interest that the Nets lose.

Should be an interesting night for Gerald Wallace who should get a warm
reception from the crowd.

I agree. I think it's best that the Blazers win and win big. They need to show Deron they have potential to be a great team, especially with him.

It will also be nice to see Wallace back. He deserves a big ovation when he comes back.

The Lakers decided to post a 8pt 4th quarter and allowed the Nets to make up a 12 point deficit to tie the game. FML

Thank goodness for Kobe. The Lakers needed a final 3pt shot from him to pull it off. They're going to end up only putting up 13-15 points the entire 4th.

Kobe freaking Bryant just dropped a dagger on NJ. That was a ridiculous shot. Drops NJ back to 5th again as well

Looks like Cleveland has all but locked up that #4 spot at this point. They're dropping games like it's going out of style. They have a pretty cake schedule in April for the most part, but with how bad they're playing, there won't be a ton of wins in there.

Toronto is going to pick up a win tonight. They're up 14 points 3 mintues left in the 4th.
