Re: Kings vs Suns
I'll take your word for it, since I missed most of it. Looks like our D was as impressive as ever.

Keith Smart killed us. Not the time to put one of the most offensively inept units you can on the floor, let alone play it the way they did. They had wings initiate every bit of offense, why the hell isn't he running more stuff up high through Hayes, instead he goes down low, NOT WHERE CHUCK HAYES BELONGS. C'mon coach, run some freaking offense, you know, the one that will make up for that lack of floor spacing a little.

Re: Kings vs Suns
Oh please. Did you watch the New Jersey game? Smart ran the offense through Hayes at the high post 4 times. Twice Hayes posted up and missed layups. The other two times he threw terrible passes that led to turnovers. Hayes is not Brad Miller or Chris Webber at the high post. He is a D-Leaguer at best there. Don't let 1-2 good plays all season fool you. He's been garbage all around and Smart has justifiably demoted him.

Re: Kings vs Suns
Its a back to back. He had to play the bench earlier than usual today and Jimmer usually hits those shots. The frontcourt may possibly be the worst offensive combination in the league tho.

Re: Kings vs Suns
This run has all been transition. The Suns aren't going to keep turning it over. We're still going to have to find a way to score in the halfcourt. This is just like the beginning of the Rockets game.

And oh please did you watch the umpteenth games before that when the Kings had one of the more productive benches in the league? It's exactly my point, Smart has gone away from playsets that were WORKING, not just this game but previous games as well. Funny, didn't hear a peep out of you when the bench was working but as soon as he makes one mistake you jump all over it. It's not about being "demoted" hahaha, it's about using players the right way, he was, and if you want to call it a demotion to cut your own nose off to spite your face with that lineup, well, some greater overall questions need to be asked.

Exactly, didn't make sense, you have two complimentary pieces playing side by side when they should be used to help you in areas of weakness combined with the areas of offensive strength. I really think the games Hayes had against the W's confused Smart as to the player Hayes is. Maybe he's still waiting for him to go triple double machine.

Miraculously got some wide open shots, but it's still an at best under 40% shot with no ability to spread the floor out of a guard initiated set. Any which way you can possibly go wrong, he did.

I think it's safe to say for sure, Donte is not a SF.

Re: Kings vs Suns
Hey, look at that, Hayes demoted in the right role in the 3rd. Interesting how that worked.

Re: Kings vs Suns
Well, I think we did a lot of what we could. But when they pack the paint and we don't have Thornton and Jimmer doesn't make his outside shot, there's not much we can do ultimately. No matter how good Cuz and Isaiah are. Our only hope was doing much better on D, but that was going to be tough with Nash going all vintage in the second half.
Winnable game, but good effort. I think they played better tonight than last night.

Yeah, that combined with fatigue as Smart went slave driver there to end it were killers.

Saw some good, saw some bad. Saw a coach correct some mistakes, now we need to see him stick with those corrections as he hasn't up to this point.
That Twill/Evans combo works better than I had thought, but yeah, the Suns just played 5 feet off of both of them and when they were in position to shoot it was the ever predictable pump fake, drive inside.

Re: Kings vs Suns
Cousins was unstoppable. Visitors who run their mouths about his efficiency can watch the highlights and eat the 16-25 FG stat.
T-Will continues to impress. From a 10-day contract guy to being better than all of our SF's combined, Petrie finally got it right this year after his horrendous Salmons and Hayes acquisitions. A pretty 16-6-5 on 70% from the field I will take any day.
Hayes is easily among the worst players in the entire NBA. This isn't even about his $22M contract, which is vomit inducing. If he could only make a layup, play some defense, hustle once in a while, stop turning the ball over and making us a worse team whenever he steps on the floor, I'd be content. He had better be amnestied this offseason. We haven't had a King this bad since Sean May or Garrett Temple.

Re: Kings vs Suns
Didn't saw the game except for the last 6-7 minutes of the 4th quarter.
Holy heck! Our bench sucked balls. Only TWill & Whiteside had a good night off the bench.
Did we really started Greene at SF? How come JT played few minutes? Why Reke had a bad game?
It looks like IT & Cousins were our main guys tonight. Wow! Cousins with 41-12! IT with 25-7!
FTs & 3PT shooting was awful tonight. Got out-rebounded. Pfffft.
