Tough one, it's between either Dirk or CP3.

But I'll go with Dirk since he's been beasting it in recent months.

Gotta be Dirk next.

PSA: Wade has been getting a hall pass for a while now based upon past near-MVP play in the past. I don't see why he's automatically gifted a top-5 position. Dwyane has been hobbled all year, and struggles to dominate the game as he did just 3-4 years ago. I mean, Kobe is looking youthful compared to him, and he has tons of more NBA mileage on him (btw, I am FAR from a Kobe fan). Jus' sayin', this time next year, Wade may get leapfrogged by a half-dozen or more up-and-comers.

You mean the guy with the PER 27.4?

Even through injuries the guy has been beasting. People talk about the year westbrook is having, yet Wade beats him across the board despite taking less shots and playing less minutes. Wade is still a superstar and a top 5 player.

As for #5, I'm going with Dirk, only out of respect for what he did in the playoffs. therwise I would have gone with CP3.

Paul for me, dude's the perfect PG. IMO, peak Paul is a top 4 PG ever. And he's playing pretty close to his peak.

Top 4 ever for someone who's gotten past the first round once? He's probably the best right now, though. Kidd, Stockton, Robertson, Magic are four I'd take over him without hesitation. There are others too, I'm sure, and I don't know too much about the history of the NBA way back when.

I didn't mean Paul is a top 4 PG all time, let me re-word what I said...I think Paul at his best (08 and 09) played at a level that only 3 other PGs (Magic, Oscar, and Nash) ever reached. But yeah, overall, he hasn't played long enough, so he doesn't rank that high overall.

And I think current Paul, although not quite at peak level, isn't that far off from what he used to be, and is clearly the best PG in the game right now.

And Kobe is? They both do one thing, score. Dirk just happens to be more efficient and less of a ballhog.

Yeah, I'm not impressed with Kobe at all this season. The "chucker" label was always used on him because of how many shots he took, but he was usually pretty efficient, now he really is a chucker.

I'd take Dirk over Kobe too.

And is it clear that Kobe's been better than Deron this year? Serious question.

BTW Rose has been like the 6th best PG this year.

1. Paul
2. Westbrook
3. Deron
4. Nash
5. Parker
6. Rose

Just too injured, and it's obvious that there's more going on with the Bulls' success than just him. A lot more. Deron was the only reason we won games early on, Parker is playing great basketball, Nash is still Nash, and Westbrook is a beast, I don't care what anyone says...criticized way too much imo...the Thunder are the #1 offense in the league with Westbrook handling the ball the most, so he's doing something right. And people point to his low apg numbers...he's actually sharing the ball more than he did before. Durant and Harden are playing much bigger roles as playmakers, so Westbrook doesn't have the ball as much and so when he does get the ball, he's looking for his shot more. He's gotten less selfish this year.

Anyway, just saying, Westbrook should get voted in soon, I'd take him over Rose and Deron this year. In fact, after Paul and Dirk, he's probably my next vote.

So westbrook is the 6th best player in your opinion....

What's wrong with that? Who's been obviously better than Westbrook after the top 5? Like I said, Kobe hasn't impressed me at all, Deron's been injured and has overall not played at his usual level, Rose has missed a ton of games, and Westbrook is having a career year in general...I guess you can start arguing between Love or LMA, but I think Westbrook is better than those guys too.

He's the 3rd best player out of everyone that's currently on the board, imo.

He gets hated on a lot, but his averages are 24/5/4 on 55% TS...that's almost a prime Kobe stat line. IDC that he's a PG, I care if he's helping the team...he definitely is, and is one of the main reasons why they're the best offense in the league. Good defender too.

But I also think he's 6th this year only, and part of that is because of injuries...if healthy and playing their normal level of basketball, I'd take Deron and Rose over Westbrook.

Injuries shouldn't drop a players rating, especially when the injured in question is 23 years old. Derrick Rose is still a better player than Westbrook. And for a player to make such a big jump ratings wise (like westbrook jumping into the top 6 for example) that player has to play at that level for more than 3 months before I officially rank him higher. IMO he's still out of the top 10 and is starting to get overrated because he plays for one of the best teams in the league. You place a healthy Rose or Deron instead of westbrook and the Thunder are just as good if not better than they are now. Westbrook rarely if ever gets double teamed and that's a HUGE advantage over previously mentioned players that do get double teamed.

Also, Westbrook is being exposed (well not exposed because it's not a negative) as a SG. Come playoff time that team is gonna severely miss Maynor's play off the bench.

As for players I rate higher than Westbrook:
Deron
Rose
Kobe (still)
Love
J-Smith

Players on his level: Aldridge, Melo, Bosh, Griffin, Rondo and a few others.

Is this the Top Players for this season? or Top Player in general? Because many are confused as sh*t judging by the comments.

Idk what you mean.

It's who we think the best player is RIGHT NOW.

KD wouldn't have beat out Wade if this was based on legacy.

This is strictly the best player right now.

You guys have the ability to change your vote if this clarification affects your voting.

Hmm, fair enough, it is true that playing with a superior teammate like Durant that draws doubles for you does take a lot of pressure off you, I mean, we've seen that this year with Deron, he's getting doubled like crazy and his efficiency is a lot lower than what it usually is.

However, I think Westbrook is Rose's equal in terms of athleticism, with a better jumper. Rose is a smarter player though. In terms of being able to handle the brunt of the defense, Westbrook has the tools to dominate like Rose, it would come down to how smart of a ball player he is (and I think he's a pretty smart ball player overall that happens to make dumb decisions here and there, like Kobe actually). But I concede that it's just speculation at this point, because the fact is he has Durant, so we don't know what Westbrook would do as 1st option.

However, as pointed out, this is how we rank them RIGHT NOW. So injuries have to factor in. Right now, if a guy is injured and is unable to play, it's literally impossible that he's having a bigger impact than another guy. Westbrook's durability right now gives him an edge over Deron and especially Rose, especially because he's playing at such a high level himself.

Out of curiosity, why would you take Smith over Aldridge, Bosh, and Griffin? I don't know if I even disagree, just wondering about your reasoning behind it.
