My bad, I was thinking of something else, I know what you meant now though. What I was referring to was the pace statistics which is how many possessions a team has per game. Suns are in 8th in the league now with 94.5. Therefor Suns play a high tempo offense, which allows other teams numbers to be higher against us as well. OKC and NYK play at higher tempos than us though this year and are both more defensive efficient teams, take it for what its worth.

Ok, I see what you're saying. Right, but defensive (and offensive) efficiency is pace independent. It's calculated per possession, so pace is irrelevant.

Every time you read an article that says something like "they're giving up ____ points per game," it's a seriously flawed stat, so you can officially ignore it.

Its very hard to determine how well a team is playing on defense as there are so many things to factor in. Numbers definitely dont always tell the whole story.

Which is why you compare the Suns defensive efficiency to the rest of the NBA's defensive efficiency and it helps fill in the gaps.

The Suns are tantalizing at face value because of how awesome Steve Nash orchestrates the game with the rest of our starters...The bench is THAT BAD. So they ruin it.

Anyone see Stevie talking about how great his back feels? Genuine update or marketing to position himself for a multi-year contract next Summer? He's still a great player, but his miniscule number of shot attempts lately (Kings game excluded) tell me he's hurting somewhere..or wearing down due to the schedule.
