The Amazingly Sucky March and April John Wall thread

Post#1 » by Jay81 » Thu Apr 5, 2012 1:32 am

this guy has sucked lately..cant shoot...cant dribble...low bball iq....right now he is the worst of our draft class from last year(booker, serphain,Wall).

Maybe CCJ was right...we should of traded the rights to #1 to Sacramento to draft cousins plus get another pick.

Surely, he cant be this bad. He was better last year. He cant score.....maybe crawford is killing him will to play...something has to be done

It looks like he doesn't care any more.

Im deleting this thread tomorrow morning. Just got too emotional. Even in a tank, I want my favorite players to play well.

I'm pretty sure in another life you just regularly hire a discrete woman with a German accent and a pageboy to put on vinyl leather and paddle you rather than follow the Wizards Ji. I imagine that other you is much happier.

Wall has had a very poor ten odd days of basketball; that this sentiment has any traction persuasively attests to the value of large sample sizes.

Yeah, he's not THIS bad.

In fact, he showed some great signs for a month. Wall is in a terrible funk right now. Privately, I would be trying to find out who is in his circle of friends, how he is eating and sleeping, how he is living, etc. In the military back in the day, every now and then, unannounced, we had to pee in a cup for drug testing. (Your's truly probably made them wonder a time or two. :D I'm just saying....)

I am pretty convinced the young man is just having some tough times. Mental fatigue would be my guess but he's too young and basketball is his gift. I am concerned either way.

Wall will play better he still just 21 everyone relax. He may of lost his confidence since this been a horrible year. Put some talent around him and you see a difference in his confidence. Were 12 and 42 we have more problems to worry about then wall struggles. We had no training camp. Wall really didn't have a chance to improve his game from last year with a nba coach .I think he will be even more better next season when he works on his game. You can see it in his face losing is killing him im glad it hurts it only will make him a better player for the future.

he's ending the season like he started it

it could be the condensed schedule, it could be his low IQ as a PG, it could be the dearth of talent around him, hell... he could be injured and not telling anyone.

He needs more developing, but I really think that he'd be much better in a new system. No Wittman next year! We're ruining Wall!

I've been saying it since we started playing Wall and Crawford a lot together - they simply don't mix. Crawford, who isn't playing poorly, is a ball-dominant scoring guard. Wall is a ball-dominant guard. There will obviously be problems playing them long stretches together unless one of the two plays well off-ball and neither do.

It's not rocket science why Wall is struggling while playing with J-Craw.

Now, this doesn't absolve John from criticism -- he's playing terribly and no matter who he's playing next to, these performances are simply unacceptable. He's got a lot of work to do in the off-season but while Wall's game needs improving, it's not being helped by the structure of the team around him.

It's nice to see a reasonable and well-reasoned explanation for Wall's woes. It is possible to identify external causes for his sucky play of late without freeing him from all accountability.

Wall is given too many passes because he's talented. We like to blame the system, the coach, ball dominant players helping him with ball handling. He's been a poor shooter and turnover prone even in college with good players around him. We can't even get a non shooting SF because he can't shoot. Going by westbrook and rose he should make a leap in 3 pts and free throws next season to gain another 5 ppg. But those turnovers need to stop otherwise he has no business running the offense

I gotta wonder if Wall and Wittman have a serious problem with each other. Supposedly, when Wittman took over, the Wiz were going to "become" a running team with a new running "system". That seemed to last... 2 games maybe? Running would be right up Wall's ally. So, what happened to the new... system?

Ah the life of a Wizards fan, bitch and moan about not having talent on the team, we luck out and get one of the better point guards in recent memory and we already wanna ship him out after 2 years. Maybe we do deserve to have a losing team.

There are guys like Nivek who really elevate the conversation with their experience and insights.

There are guys like nate, Sev, monte, Dat, dandridge and many others who have strong, well-reasoned takes that make for a good discussion.

There's CCJ, who can be impulsive, hyper-passionate, apologetic, and obstinate -- but damn if he hasn't contributed a ton to the collective thought process of this board.

There's doc, ed, Hoopalotta, and others who put smiles on faces just for the way they can make words dance.

And then, there's Ji.

Ji the anti-fan, as doc so aptly has been calling him for years.

Ji, you suck. Oh, I'm just emotional right now. I'll delete that later.

You can bet your bottom dollar that if Wall had went off last night Ji would have been screaming about the calamity of ruining our tank.

i don't think he should be untouchable. I wouldn't trade him this early in his career though. But to have a PG who can shoot isn't too much to ask, is it?

I read something on Bullets Forever this morning, Wall's 2nd season is on par with Westbrook's and Rose's season. And look how those two turned out.
