Should I feel bad that my favorite player might be changing

Post#1 » by Heats_Finest » Thu Apr 5, 2012 6:03 am

Yeah, I'm not sure. Wade has always been my favorite player since I started liking basketball/nba back in like '04. But lately, I don't know it feels like to me I like watching Lebron play much more. I seem to want Lebron to win games for the HEAT and get his MVP stats. Trust me I'm not a band wagoner.

I'll try and put it into a bad metaphor type thing.

It's like, I've had my wife of 7 years, I love her, and then this new girl has come and she does everything my wife does, but better.

Haha no homo, but that's sort of like how it is. Do some of you guys find that you're starting to like basketball more with Lebron than Wade?

Nah brah. Wade will explode in the playoffs and Finals. Book it. The bitter taste of the Finals is still in his tongue. He's just coasting. It won't matter if he gets snubbed of the All-NBA team again. All he cares about is the ring and FMVP.

But yeah, I want Lebron to get his MVP and stats. His naysayers are on a rampage, just like how they placed Durant #1 in the MVP rankings.

Well lebron still made us lose the first ring, pretty much.
I want them both to do well at the same time, trust me that's the only way we will win.

Wade can always get his, they both have to improve shooting though, wade especially needs that mid range and 3 on for the playoffs

I think you're just caught in the moment of Lebron playing at an incredible level in these past two games, especially coming off of a huge slump and he does play best when he's in control of the game, it's true. But Wade will have his nights where you'll be in awe solely by him before the season is over, as he has already. That's just the way it goes on a team with this amount of talent. Any given night super-stardom will emerge.

But if it is legitimately changing, then no big deal. You're still rooting for the same cause. 8-)

im sorry, but LeBron did not make us lose the finals last year. it's a team game and i dont think it's fair to lump all that on LeBron because he didnt take over and drop 30+ a game. we got beaten fair and square by a team that outplayed us and did what they had to do when it needed to be done. we made it to the Finals as a team we lost as a team.

I'll be honest, I was exclusively a Wade fanboy but when LeBron got here and when he did some awesome stuff, I kinda became a LeBron fanboy as well. I love both equally and I wish both equal success for the betterment of our team.

Just look at this. Both playing beautiful music together. Both dominating. Both getting fair share of credit. That's what I would like to see in our 2012 playoff run.....

But at the end of the day, im for my team first and for my player second. I will be happy regardless who outplays who. And if you're a true Heat fan, you should not care nor worry about anyone outshining anyone or such.

I might love to watch LeBron, and be in awe at times of what he's capable of. But Wade will always be my favorite. Never gave up on the organization when it was going through a tough stretch, always came out ready to play. Carried the team to its first ever championship. And then carried the team to the playoffs year after year with an extremely sub par lineup.

Ya LeBrons a beast, but Wade for everything he's done down here, will always be my favorite.

Visit: lebronjames.com or dwyanewade.com or ****.com. The funniest part is, these two are best of friends, they enjoy it when the other one shines, they love winning together and sharing the fame and the blame and yet our fanbase, or if you can call those people real fans, always feels the need to create a Wade vs. James debate in any kind of way. Is it so hard to just embrace the best Heat team since the birth of the franchise? I don't even mind if you like a particular player on the Heat a lot, I don't even mind if you praise him a lot, but don't bash other Heat players unrightfully just so your favorite player looks better. It's so **** (Please Use More Appropriate Word) to bash a Heat player on the Heat board, especially since our guys are the most popular targets outside of the Heat world.

Kill HIF all you want, but as much as he's a Spo homer, at least he's a true Heat supporter. No wonder a lot of good posters such as Tim_Hardawayy don't show up here anymore.

Thanks man but I'm not really a spohomer. I'm a Heathomer and defend any of the Heat that are attacked by the "what have you done for me in the last 2 games" brigade. spo just happens to have gotten a serious amount of doodoo thrown at him over the last couple of years. Very little of it is deserved. The really sad thing is these same people asking for new coaches/players will be hating on them if they don't win every game.

We've only lost 14 games all season - that's incredible.

There's nothing wrong about talking about your favorite player who plays for the team you support. I'm pretty sure before LeBron came here most here were Dwyane Wade fanboys  I definitely was after the Finals in 2006 but been neutral for awhile (since Wade started asking for fouls...).

But anyway, things like this happen. I find myself liking to watch both play, sometimes Wade or LeBron can be frustrating.

Right now LeBron is getting into MVP form.

Wade has had some bad nights but last night wasn't one of them. He had some bad passes and whatnot, but it's not like he played bad. The one thing I always hated about Wade's game is ASKING for fouls or trying to draw a foul than get the ball in the bucket, than complain after. It's different from the pumpfake, it's when he literally just flings himself to try to get something.

But anyway, Wade is one of the best players in the playoffs in this generation man. One thing about Wade, he knows when to get the job done. He tried his hardest in the Finals as well.

lol@the wife analogy

If this team can get into being the road warriors they once were and get back to their peak performance BY playoff time, we can win this whole thing. But there's still team flaws all around. Bosh has to get going too.

That's blasphemous! Really who cares they are both great players and both a lot of fun to watch. I could never feel the same way about Lebron, just b/c I have been a fan of Wade since his Marquette days, but I have also been a fan of Lebron since I saw him on team USA. Lebron is a freak of nature, but Wade just has a way of carrying himself on the court that separates him for me from any other player I have watched.

Has there ever been a situation where a player wins the regular season MVP but his teammate wins Finals MVP.? Would be amusing as hell.

I would have guessed the Lakers but after looking at the list then no. But they've had 3 different Finals' MVP in the 80's. Pretty cool.

Well, whoever you like more or less is not important, they are both playing for the Heat, but...

For me the important things is that this teams offense got to go through Lebron and ONLY Lebron to be sucessfull. Lebron should NEVER defer to Wade, well maybe only when Wades riding a hot streak, thats obvious, but this should be Lebrons team not Wades and that was the problem last year imo. Wade tried to take over for the Finals and got Lebron out of a great rhythm coming from huge series vs Borton and Chicago. Wade can play better being second option then Lebron. Wade is imo a more polished scorer and better jump shooter, so imo he can adapt more at playing wihtout the ball then Lebron. Dallas zone had a lot to do with it too, and their high level of play, but like i said imo, Wade trying to take over the offense was huge too....

I know all this is a little out of topic but this again, this should be Lebrons team, not Wades....

Oh, so that's why we lost last year. Wasn't because Lebron was tired or Lebron was out of it. It was Wade. So Lebron James can never be personally responsible for his mistakes? We're going down the Cavs fans route of making excuses for him now?

Honestly, anybody else sick and tired of the Wade vs Lebron nonsense? Its not just here at realgm, its pretty happens at all the other popular basketball forums as well. I originally came from one of them, had to pretty much abandon the place because a lot of the original heat members faded out because of all of the stupid little wars going on. Fighting over who's team it really was, fighting over who should take the last shot, ect...I check back from time to time and its only gotten worse. After the sixers game, there was a thread about how Wade was holding Lebron back. And like always, it grew into a flame war between the two sides. I know this is crazy thinking, but sometimes I believe I had more fun back when we didn't have Bosh or Lebron. Yea' we weren't considered contenders to the NBA title, but at least back then we had a nice little community who enjoyed watching Heat games. I miss that sometimes. At least this place isn't as bad as the other places(especially the one I came from).

Anyway, sorry for the rant. Its just....gets annoying sometimes. We have two of the best players in the NBA and yet for some that isn't enough.

It was the Lakers.

Yes. Kareem won the MVP in 1980, but Magic Johnson (who was in his 1st year or so) got the Finals MVP. I think it was the year Kareem got hurt or something though. And Magic had to take over.

Return to Miami Heat
