You know Rice gonna F this up. The guy is the most unclutch player I have ever seen. And since he sucks anyway, I cant even describe his game closing skills :nonono:

This felt like a Raptors game. Up by double digits and lose a close game at the end. Which team is really tanking!?

Actually he had a good game today. There is no lottery/draft in Europe, so tanking doesn't exist. Damn, such loses gets on my nerves ...

It won't be hard Jonas adjusting to Toronto system, Rytas looks like European clone of Raptors.... :D

What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.

Rytas is 2nd after regular season in LKL, will play semi-final in Eurocup and quarter-final in VTB league.

One of tanking advantages is that you don't need to get drunk after close losses.

28 minutes, 12 points (5-10 FG, 2-3 FT) 6 rebounds ( 5 offensive) although I counted at least 7 only in the first half. The scorekeepers probably didn't feel like rewarding JV with rebounds. Also 3 fouls, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 2 turnovers.

Had an impressive first half. Got benched in the third and coach for whatever reason decided to keep him on the bench for way too long. When he entered the game with 5minuts left he didn't do much damage.

My impression is that Valanciunas has to learn to adjust when the opponents make adjustments for him at half time. We've seen this with Bargnani, who used to have strong first halves and then did little the rest of the way. Obviously, adding a little strength, broadening the skillset and experience enable lots of young players to get over that in time.

Val took himself out of the game. He started really aggressive, which led to some great boards but he also got stuffed a couple of times at the rim and looked awkward on his post-ups. But in the second half it looked like he was getting too into scrapping with Javtokas and the bald guy, and he picked up some stupid fouls.

I dont know, willing to see Jonas in some more sane offense. Rytas' offense is just a mess. Also, all the switching in pick and roll D killed them today. Its more on the coach, but Jonas himself gambled too much on help D at times.

And when he hedges out, he tends to pressure with his hands, and not his feet. Just watch Bargnani when he's hedging strongly, he puts feet and torso forward, rarely uses his hands, and that forces the guard to circle wider, eating up clock. It's very effective when he does it with energy like he did against Charlotte and Philly. With Jonas using his hands, he doesn't get the same degree of pressure on the ballhandler, he's weaker like Ed or Amir on hedges.

His usage rate will go way up in the NBA because pick and roll is such a fundamental aspect of the North American game. Post ups, too.
