The effort wasn't there, period. Has nothing to do with him getting up shot attempts. He is supposed to be an anchor and the backbone in the paint, yet he was late on every rotation. He didn't start fighting for rebounds until the 4th quarter. He set lazy screens for his guards all night.
You know what though, the whole team played like crap so at least he isn't alone.

Re: Game #55: New York Knicks (27-27) @ Orlando Magic(32-22)
You know what I noticed, when a player gets beat down in the media, there is always someone that will come around and say "remember when player A was going through situation B but he was able to put all that aside, yadayadayada" and we'll compare the two because for some reason in our mind we think every player has the same personality and temperament and we forget to realize that each player deals with situations differently.
I don't care what another player went through, it has to do with what this player is going through now. If he never had it in him to play through adversity why do we want to compare him to another player that has the ability to do just that? Yeah, Dwight had made this difficult on himself and this season is teaching him to play through all of that.
I'm not going to bash Dwight and say "well I know he isn't A, B or C", I have no expectation of him but to do his best very game. He is an amazing player and sometimes we forget that when we want to vilify someone. Does he deserve the backlash that he's getting because of his lie, YES. Does he deserve the backlash that he's getting because of his playing today, YES. Does he deserve to be compared to another player and say "this is why he's not *insert whatever here*, NO! Because no player is the same and I don't understand why people set a standard of how one player should act compared to another player. I understand the expectation that the player have to maintain professionalism, that's a must. And a person should be called out when he lied, but he shouldn't be called out because he's not the same as another player.

its clear management doesn't have the balls to make any kind of changes. otis is still here after tons of mistakes, stan is still here after calling out the organization "im the only one who cares about winning in orlando" and jameer is still running the show.

Even Charles Barkley hinted that he quit. He was careful in his words but thats what he was saying.
And? Rosco from down the street said he quit, while Fat Lou said he didn't. What do you think?

I agree with my man Rosco...
Fat Lou has been blindly defending Dwight since those missed free-throws in the '09 Finals.

You know what's funny, earlier in the season when Dwight was getting 15 points and 15 rebounds people here claimed he quit. I don't pay no mine to anyone who said that. This game was clearly a bad game. I don't think it had to do with quitting more than it had to do with what played out earlier today. I believe it was more a mental thing for him.

I think SVG's comments were the straw that broke the camels back. Been struggling with chemistry all year and I think this officially tips the scales. From the lock out to this, what a great year of NBA ball.

I don't know about you but I'm pretty glad that it all came out in the open because this will push the Magic organization for change. Good or bad, get ready because next season will be a new looking Magic team.

Again, I think it has to do with what played out today. He was called out as a liar, deserving so, and I think that affected him. I think it was more mental then anything. Maybe mental means quitting in this situation, but this is all mental now.

The Magic have to fire Van Gundy now. It's unfortunate, but true. You know they've promised to do it at the end of the season anyway, and you can't play out the remainder of the season and playoffs with this toxic combination. And SVG has given them a reason, really -- he took something that should have been left in-house, and went to the media with it. By doing that he sabotaged the season, and he knows it. He's not stupid. So they have to let him go and end this now. The team has lost 5 in a row and if they haven't already they are about to tank the season. You have to pull the plug.

Oh, I'm sure it did. There is no doubt in my mind that he released this out of anger.....
I mean, really, what reason does he have to reveal this? What does this solve? How does it do anything except make everything worse?
