Rangers unveil statue of fan who died at game

Nine months after a Texas Rangers fan died after falling over an outfield railing at a game, his 7-year-old son helped unveil a statue Thursday honoring his father and others who love America's pastime. http://www.ajc.com/sports/rangers-unvei ... 08391.html

I'm not trying to sound like a d*ck here, but does anyone else think this is kind of awful?

which part, the building of the statue? i thought it was a bit of an overkill when they announced they were building a statue of him. the rangers have already done plenty of stuff for this family

Now the kid can simply go back to the stadium and remember the painful memories of what happened the day anytime he chooses!

This is what I'm getting at. Not only will that kid remember what happened to his dad every time he watches a Rangers game, or sees Josh Hamilton do something unimpressive, now every time he goes to Arlington he'll literally see his dad.

This really makes me wonder...

Thoughtful but strange.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

Good idea, but I don't think it should've gone ahead and been done. Very strange.
